Missouri American Water Plans Pipeline Upgrades on Multiple Streets in Jefferson City

October 31, 2018

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct 31, 2018--Missouri American Water has begun five projects to upgrade infrastructure in its Jefferson City district at a combined investment of approximately $1.45 million.

Five water main projects, including replacements, relocations and installations, will ensure Missouri American Water continues to provide safe, reliable water service to customers in Jefferson City.

“Some of these water mains we’re replacing date from before World War II,” said Brent Haas, Operations Manager. “They have all exceeded their useful life, and so to ensure we can continue uninterrupted service of clean, safe, award-winning water, we have to replace this aging infrastructure. We ask for patience from customers and from the people of Jefferson City as we undertake these projects.”

Work on these projects generally will take place from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. There will be a few evening hours in high traffic areas to avoid an inconvenience to our customers. Weather-pending, the projects are expected to be completed by the end of December, with restoration of any disturbed land to be completed in spring 2019.

During construction, customers might experience temporary water service interruptions, discolored water and/or lower-than-normal water pressure. For more information, contact Missouri American Water at 866-430-0820.
