Blueport Commerce Retailers See Impressive Gains Over Memorial Day Weekend
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jun 12, 2018--Blueport Commerce, the leading e-commerce platform for big-ticket retail, today announced significant sales gains for U.S. furniture retailers across the Blueport Platform over Memorial Day Weekend. During a period that was fairly stagnant for the industry overall, Blueport retailers were able to generate an impressive jumpstart to the summer sales season, posting a 45% sales increase across the platform.
This year’s increase in revenue was driven primarily by a strong increase in conversion – up 44% over Memorial Day Weekend last year. Typically, increases in traffic during peak times like Memorial Day dilute conversion as aggressive marketing tactics attract a wide variety of shoppers. Blueport’s retailers were able to increase conversion even with this surge in traffic, evidence of the strong marketing and merchandising strategies by Blueport retailers, and of the power of the Blueport Platform to convert those strategies into results.

While sales were strong throughout the weekend, Monday came out as the strongest sales day as promotional urgency encouraged shoppers to finalize their orders. Blueport continued to see advances in mobile’s share of traffic and revenue. Mobile traffic increased 35% year-over-year across U.S. retailers on the platform, and mobile revenue increased 67%.
