Stewart’s free throws win it for North Dakota
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Marlon Stewart made two free throws with 1.6 seconds left to lift North Dakota to a 74-73 victory over Western Illinois on Friday.
Stewart was fouled on a 3-point attempt. He made the first free throw, missed the second and made the third. A half-court heave by Western Illinois wasn't close.
The Leathernecks trailed by 10 with 10:38 to play but grabbed their first lead since 8:03 of the first half on Kobe Webster's 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining.

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Kobe Webster and Isaac Johnson combined for 42 points, Brandon Gilbeck added 10 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots and Western Illinois led all the way, defeating SIU-Edwardsville 83-58 Wednesday night.
Western Illinois (3-4) shot 58 percent from the floor, making 29 of 50 shots with 12 3-pointers and 15 assists. The Leathernecks offense was especially potent after halftime, with 15-of-24 shooting (62.5 percent), and 64 percent from distance, 7 of 11.
Gilbeck leads Western Illinois in 95-56 win over Dominican
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Seven-footer Brandon Gilbeck scored 19 points and blocked four shots, Isaac Johnson added 18 points and Western Illinois never trailed in beating Division III Dominican (Ill.) 95-56 on Wednesday night.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Garrett Covington scored 20 points, Jeremiah Usiosefe scored 10 and the game-winning free throws, and Western Illinois held off Oral Roberts 63-60 on Wednesday night to end a two-game skid.
Covington's jumper capped a 13-2 second-half run and the Leathernecks pulled ahead 44-32, then led by 13, 60-47, on his 3-pointer with 5:02 to play. Kris Martin hit three straight 3-pointers, Aaron Young made a layup and the Golden Eagles closed to 60-58 with 1:13 left.
South Dakota St scores highest point total of the season

MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Garret Covington hit four 3-pointers and scored a season-high 26 points and Western Illinois cruised to a 91-53 win over Division III Crown College on Wednesday.
Dalan Ancrum had 13 points to lead four other Leathernecks in double figures. Covington had eight rebounds and C.J. Duff had seven points and seven assists.
Western Illinois (2-3) had a 16-2 run to open a 29-16 lead and then outscored the Storm 22-4 over the final eight minutes to lead 53-24 at the half.
Western Illinois trounces Oak Hills Christian 95-48
MACOMB, Ill. (AP) — Garret Covington scored 15 points and the Leathernecks shot 60 percent from the floor and used a 52-21 rebounding edge to trounce Oak Hills Christian 95-48 on Sunday night.
Covington, a senior who led Western Illinois (1-1) in nearly every category last season, scored 10 points in the first four minutes, Dalan Ancrum added nine and the Leathernecks jumped to a 28-2 lead and cruised.
