TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State says David Nichols will join the men's basketball program next season as a graduate transfer.
The 6-foot Nichols played point guard for Albany the past three seasons. He was an America East Conference first-team selection in 2016-17, averaging 17.9 points. He was third for the Great Danes in scoring this season, averaging 14.6 points.
Nichols will get his degree from Albany in June. He will be eligible immediately for the Seminoles.
Florida State announces guard CJ Walker leaving program
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State says point guard CJ Walker is leaving the program.
Coach Leonard Hamilton said in a statement on Tuesday that Walker asked for the release and that he appreciated his contributions over the past two seasons.
The 6-foot-1 sophomore started 34 of 35 games for the Seminoles, who lost to Michigan in the West Region final.

CJ Walker scored a career-high 24 points and Phil Cofer added 19 to lead the unbeaten Seminoles past Rutgers 78-73.

Walker was 7 of 12 from the field, 5 of 8 from distance and Mann was 8 of 12 with nine rebounds and four steals.
Mfiondu Kabengele added 12 points and CJ Walker had 11 for the Seminoles (3-0), who used an 11-0 run for a 76-60 lead with 6:28 to play.
Bacon scores 17, leads No. 25 Florida State over Illinois
NEW YORK (AP) — Leonard Hamilton has a problem.
