Despite heavy security at the entrances to the Luzhniki Stadium, CSKA fans brought in large amounts of pyrotechnics and used them during Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Roma, filling the stadium with smoke.

MOSCOW (AP) — Russian soccer club FC Rostov has been fined 140,000 rubles ($2,100) for discriminatory chants by its fans.
The Russian Football Union says Rostov, which played in the Champions League in 2016-17, was playing a league game against Anzhi Makhchakala on Saturday when fans made offensive chants "regarding the origins" of the opposition.
People from Russia's predominantly Muslim regions in the North Caucasus often face discrimination in Russian society.

Plzen was leading 2-1 on goals by Michael Krmencik before Jan Kovarik's foul gave CSKA a spot-kick, which was duly converted by Nikola Vlasic.

FIFA clears Russia switch for Finnish teenager Eremenko
ZURICH (AP) — FIFA has cleared teenage midfielder Sergei Eremenko to play for Russia at the World Cup by approving his change of national eligibility from Finland.
FIFA says a request by the Russian Football Union was approved Monday.
The 19-year-old Eremenko was born in Russia and currently plays on loan at Spartak Moscow. His father, Alexei, has Finnish citizenship after playing and coaching there for much of his career.

UEFA charged Lyon on Monday for incidents including "racist behavior" and "crowd disturbances" at a Europa League home game against CSKA Moscow last week.
The case will be judged on May 31 by UEFA's disciplinary panel which will weigh incidents that happened within the perimeter of the stadium on Thursday.
