STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Jock Landale scored 32 points on 12-for-20 shooting and hauled in seven rebounds to help lift Saint Mary's to its 14th straight victory, 72-69 over Pacific on Saturday night.

The Gaels (9-2) pulled away with a 6-0 run capped by Landale's dunk to make it 65-56 with 4:54 left.

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Jock Landale set career highs with 37 points and 18 rebounds on Monday night and Saint Mary's beat Sacramento State 70-54 for the Gaels' second straight win.
Landale had 24 points and 12 rebounds and made 11 of 14 shots in the first half while Saint Mary's (7-2) built a 32-19 lead. The Gaels held the Hornets to 7-of-25 (28 percent) shooting and had a 25-11 edge on the glass in the period. Landale finished the game 14 of 20 from the field and 9 of 10 from the foul line.

Freshly ousted with a stunning early exit from the West Coast Conference tournament three seasons ago, Saint Mary's made the quiet flight home from Las Vegas and reached campus about 10 p.m. that night in March 2015 after a loss to Portland. Coach Randy Bennett sent home the seniors and called a team meeting for the underclassmen. He did the talking, for about an hour.
For the first time in 17 years, Gonzaga isn’t favored to win the WCC men’s basketball title.
Saint Mary’s took over the top spot in the conference coaches’ preseason poll, released Thursday in Las Vegas at the WCC’s annual tip-off event. Gonzaga was second, followed by BYU, San Francisco and Santa Clara.
