ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Scott Niedermayer accomplished a lot during his 18-year NHL career. The Hall of Fame defenseman added one more to the list on Sunday night when he became the ninth player to have his number retired by two teams.
The Anaheim Ducks raised Niedermayer's No. 27 to the rafters at the Honda Center, honoring their former team captain, who helped lead them to their only Stanley Cup title in 2007. He first had his number retired by the New Jersey Devils in 2011.

The 23-year-old forward from the Czech Republic got his first NHL hat trick in a 6-3 win over the Dallas Stars. Anaheim trailed 3-2 at the end of the second period but scored four goals in the third, including three in a three-minute span to take control.

Adam Henrique and Jakob Silfverberg scored in the first period, when Anaheim held Boston to just five shots, and the Ducks held on for a 3-1 victory Tuesday night.

Anderson got his team-high 10th goal with just under five minutes left to make it 3-2. He fired the puck in off the left shoulder of goalie John Gibson. Anderson also had two assists.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Antoine Vermette made sure Reto Berra had a memorable first start with Anaheim.
Vermette beat goalie Martin Jones in the ninth round of a long shootout to give the Ducks a 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Monday night.
Corey Perry, Cam Fowler and Brandon Montour also scored during the tiebreaker for Anaheim.
Ducks captain Getzlaf out after surgery on broken cheekbone
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf will be sidelined up to two months after surgery for a broken cheekbone.
The Ducks announced the extent of their latest major injury Tuesday.
Getzlaf was hit in the face by a puck early in the Ducks' game at Carolina on Oct. 29. He has missed Anaheim's past three games, and he had surgery Monday.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — For much of the first period, the Anaheim Ducks looked overmatched against the top team in the NHL.
The Montreal Canadiens were controlling the puck and outshooting Anaheim 15-3 at one point. What they were not getting, however, were any goals.
Buoyed by the play of John Gibson in net, the Ducks recovered behind goals from Rickard Rakell and defenseman Cam Fowler to beat the Canadiens 2-1 on Tuesday night.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — John Gibson bounced back from a most lousy performance by giving the Anaheim Ducks more than just a solid performance in net.
He even helped generate some offense.
Gibson made a season-high 33 saves, Cam Fowler and Ryan Kesler had goals and the Ducks gave the Edmonton Oilers their fourth straight loss, 4-1 on Tuesday night.
Nick Ritchie and Antoine Vermette also scored for Anaheim, and Corey Perry had two assists to take the team lead with 15 points.
