NEW ORLEANS (AP) — While Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan stressed that New Orleans doesn't fear going on the road in the playoffs, he readily acknowledged the advantages of staying in the Superdome.
New Orleans (12-2) can lock up the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs with a victory over visiting Pittsburgh (8-5-1) on Sunday.
"That would be huge," said Jordan, referencing what he calls "dome-field advantage."

Saints aim to end opening day skid vs. Bucs
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan remembers all too well the last time New Orleans entered a season with a lot of hype.

Saints sorting out some uncertainty at defensive end
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Saints training camp opened with uncertainty over who'll help All-Pro defensive end Cameron Jordan bolster the pass rush from the edges.
Alex Okafor, Marcus Davenport and Trey Hendrickson appear to be the top candidates for the other starting end job, but the only one of those players who is a proven commodity is coming back from a significant injury. The other two are inexperienced.
Statistically Speaking: Saints defense took giant leap forward, but still room for improvement
The New Orleans Saints defense is finally out of the cellar.
Sparked by a young, big-play secondary and led by Dennis Allen's aggressive, attacking scheme, the Saints made big strides against the pass, making life so difficult on opposing passers that New Orleans ranked seventh in the NFL in passer rating allowed, the team's highest finish in that important statistic since the 2009 Super Bowl run.
New Orleans Saints Owner Tom Benson and his wife, Executive Officer Gayle Benson, aren’t on the sideline during the players’ stretch period, and General Manager Mickey Loomis also is absent due to another assignment (the Senior Bowl, in Mobile, Ala.).
And, too, that portion of practice took place without the musical accompaniment that usually is provided by Director of Player Engagement/D.J. Fred McAfee.

Two of the NFLs three best edge rushers this season were born 43 miles and 19 months apart in Arizona.
Everson Griffen, the 30-year-old from Avondale, has 61 career sacks for a Vikings team that drafted him in the fourth round in 2010. Cameron Jordan, the 28-year-old from Chandler, has 59 andfrac12; sacks for a Saints team that took him 24th overall a year later.
This season, they tied with 13 sacks, a career high for both. Only three players in the league had more.
Cameron Jordan has a little fun at Panthers’ expense after Saints win, sends wine to Cam Newton
Cameron Jordan and Cam Newton have always had a little bit of a rivalry.
Jordan, always quick with a joke, especially after a win, has taken pokes at Newton's sense of style, and the Panthers quarterback responded in kind in November by saying he'd send Jordan some "sauce."
NEW ORLEANS - Saints All-Pro defensive end Cameron Jordan grinned playfully as he glanced up at a bottle of red wine on the top shelf of his locker and asked if anyone knew Carolina quarterback Cam Newton's address.
A bottle with the name "Jordan" on the label - even if it isn't made by the Saints star's family - might be the last thing Newton wants right now.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees and defensive end Cameron Jordan — two ironmen who rarely miss snaps, let alone games — told reporters this week that it's not really possible for a player to be fully ready to play on a Thursday.
The biggest concerns: The lack of recovery time from the previous game and the potential of aggravating existing injuries.
Cameron Jordan becomes first Saints defensive end to win NFC Defensive Player of the Month
New Orleans star Cameron Jordan won the NFC Defensive Player of the Month award on Sunday, becoming the first Saints defensive end to win the award in the process.
During the month of November, Jordan had 15 tackles, 4.5 sacks and two batted passes, adding to a season that has arguably been his best in the NFL so far.
Saints’ win streak ends with 26-20 loss to Rams
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The end of New Orleans' eight-game winning streak came as no surprise to Saints coach Sean Payton.
"I thought our week of practice was just OK at best, honestly. It was average at best, I'll say that," Payton said.
New Orleans' high-scoring offense was held in check and the Saints struggled to stop Jared Goff with their top two cornerbacks sidelined by injuries. The result was a 26-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in a meeting of two of the NFL's highest-scoring teams.
Mark Ingram named NFC Offensive Player of the Week
The New Orleans Saints have gobbled up another Player of the Week Award.
Running back Mark Ingram has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after ripping off 134 yards on 11 carries in the Saints' 34-31 thriller over Washington.
Ingram also scored on a 36-yard touchdown run and caught three passes for 21 yards in the win.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is sixth among all NFL players in Pro Bowl voting, as of the results at the end of Tuesday.

Saints’ Okafor out for the season with torn Achilles tendon
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Saints defensive end Alex Okafor will miss the remainder of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon during the fourth quarter of Sunday's comeback victory over the Washington Redskins.
Saints coach Sean Payton, who confirmed the injury on Monday, says losing Okafor is "real difficult" and that the veteran defensive end, who was acquired as a free agent this past offseason, has been "a great teammate."
It’s starting to look like a special season for the New Orleans Saints.
After being outplayed for almost the entire game, the Saints staged a comeback for the ages with a 34-31 overtime victory over the Washington Redskins on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Snap Counts: Blowout win over Bills leads to short days for a lot of Saints defenders
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — The New Orleans Saints defense kept ending Buffalo drives so early on Sunday that Cameron Jordan joked he thought about doing extra gassers to keep up his conditioning.
The Saints' star defensive end was only half-joking.
Due to the dominance of the defense and the running game, the Saints defense faced just 48 snaps on Sunday, the fewest the franchise has faced since the 2013 season.
Saints’ defense shines in 13-0 preseason win over Texans
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Texans starting quarterback Tom Savage struggled to move Houston's offense. His popular backup, first-round draft choice Deshaun Watson, didn't do much to distinguish himself, either.
Perhaps a New Orleans Saints defense that has languished near the bottom of the NFL for three seasons is improving after all.
METAIRIE, La. (AP) — New Saints defensive end Alex Okafor hopes he can live up to the billing he received from his old friend and former Texas Longhorns teammate, Kenny Vaccaro.
"He definitely stuck his neck out for me," Okafor said about Vaccaro, a Saints starting safety who advised New Orleans to seriously consider acquiring Okafor in free agency this offseason.
