CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to decades in prison on a conviction of having supplied heroin that led to three deaths.
Corey Palson was sentenced Tuesday in Cumberland County to 34 years and four months to 68 years and six months in prison. He had been convicted in September of charges including drug delivery resulting in death.
Authorities said the 26-year-old Newville man sold heroin to Lorraine Avery and Michael Sullivan. Both fatally overdosed in May 2015.
CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — State Police say a Middletown Township police officer is hospitalized after his patrol vehicle crashed into a truck.
Police say the officer was headed east on Carlisle Pike when he failed to come to a complete halt for traffic stopped at a light at Cook Drive on Monday evening.
The officer was flown to a hospital. His name and condition have not been released.
The truck driver did not report any injuries.
BREEZEWOOD, Pa. (AP) — The eastbound Pennsylvania Turnpike has reopened, but a westbound stretch between Carlisle and Breezewood remains closed after a three-vehicle crash.
The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes around 4 a.m. Monday and closed the turnpike in both directions between those exits.
It was not immediately clear when the westbound lanes will reopen.
CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — An attorney who helped represent former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky at his child sex abuse trial has been sentenced to 20 months in prison on federal tax evasion charges.
Karl Rominger (ROH'-mihn-jur) was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty in July to tax evasion and failure to file tax returns. He was ordered to pay $318,000 in restitution.
WASHINGTON (AP) — An Army colonel who worked at the U.S. Army War College faces up to four years in military prison after pleading guilty to three child pornography counts during a court-martial at Fort McNair in Washington.
