Pineiro's 3 put the Toreros ahead 58-56 with 2:20 to play. Alessandro Lever made two free throws with 1:15 left to tie it at 58. Pineiro answered with his second 3-pointer with a minute remaining, then Lever and the Toreros' Olin Carter III each missed a shot. PHOENIX (AP) — Trey Drechsel and Oscar Frayer each scored 15 points and Grand Canyon rolled to an 89-47 victory over Delaware State on Saturday night.
The Antelopes (1-1) have won 16 straight home openers.
Drechsel and Frayer made six field goals apiece for Grand Canyon, which was 52 percent from the field. Drechsel, a senior transfer from Western Washington, also led the Antelopes with eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals in 25 minutes.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An investigation revealed that a truck driver who authorities say caused a crash that killed him and three Idaho airmen had more than 20 traffic violations in several states.
Illya Tsar was driving a 2019 Volvo tractor-trailer east on Interstate 84 on June 16 when he slammed into the back of a Jeep Wrangler that was stopped in traffic, according to a preliminary crash report by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Fifteen-year-old Demario Bailey was walking with twin, Demacio, under a railroad viaduct on the way to basketball practice when four would-be robbers demanded the victim's jacket. Demario was shot in the chest when he wouldn't comply, and died a short time later.
