Casemiro was on target with a superb long-range shot before Luka Modric added a late second goal.
The win moved Madrid into the top three for the first time since September and eased the pressure on coach Santiago Solari.
Casemiro and Fernandez added to Real Madrid’s injury list
MADRID (AP) — Midfielder Casemiro and defender Nacho Fernandez are the latest injury setbacks for Real Madrid.
Both players were injured on Sunday in the 4-2 win at Celta Vigo in the Spanish league.
Casemiro left the match in the first half with a sprained right ankle, and Fernandez was substituted in the second with a dislocated ligament in his right knee.
Injured Coutinho, Marcelo dropped for Brazil friendlies
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho and Real Madrid left back Marcelo have been dropped for Brazil's upcoming friendlies in England because of thigh injuries.
Beijing Guoan's Renato Augusto and Juventus' Alex Sandro will be their replacements for games against Uruguay in London on Nov. 16 and Cameroon in Milton Keynes on Nov. 20.
Coutinho, who has a left thigh injury, and Marcelo, who injured his right thigh, would have started the games.
LONDON (AP) — Brazil's 23-man World Cup squad was completed on Wednesday, although it remains a guessing game as to how the team plans to line up at the tournament.

MADRID (AP) — Real Madrid tied Barcelona's Spanish record of 39 games unbeaten in all competitions by crushing Granada 5-0 in La Liga on Saturday.
Francisco "Isco" Alarcon scored twice and Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Casemiro added on at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Madrid was six points ahead of second-place Barcelona, which plays fifth-place Villarreal on Sunday. Third-place Sevilla, which defeated sixth-place Real Sociedad 4-0, was four points off the lead.
