JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Matt Wieters has been added to the St. Louis Cardinals' roster after earning the back-up job behind catcher Yadier Molina.
Chasen Shreve, Cardinals agree to $900,000 deal
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Left-hander Chasen Shreve and the St. Louis Cardinals agreed to a $900,000, one-year contract.
Shreve can earn an additional $400,000 in performance bonuses for games pitched as part of the deal announced Friday: $50,000 each for 35, 40, 45 and 50; $75,000 apiece for 55 and 60; and $50,000 for 65.
NEW YORK (AP) — The busy New York Yankees have traded relievers Chasen Shreve and Giovanny Gallegos to the St. Louis Cardinals for first baseman Luke Voit.
The Yankees also got international signing bonus pool money from St. Louis in the deal announced Saturday night.
This was New York's third trade in five days. They got reliever Zach Britton from Baltimore on Tuesday and acquired starter J.A. Happ from Toronto on Thursday.
BALTIMORE (AP) — The Yankees have acquired left-hander Zach Britton from the rebuilding Baltimore Orioles for three prospects, a trade that will bolster New York's bullpen for the stretch run.
Right-hander Dillon Tate is going to the Orioles along with left-hander Josh Rogers and right-hander Cody Carroll. The teams announced the deal Tuesday night.

At 21 years and 144 days, bettered Mickey Mantle, who was 21 years and 185 days when he hit three-run, ninth-inning drive of Boston's Ellis Kinder in a 6-3 win on April 23, 1953.
Yankees settle with 6, on track to get under tax threshold
NEW YORK (AP) — The Yankees reached one-year contracts with their remaining six players eligible for arbitration, leaving their projected luxury tax payroll at $177 million — $20 million below the threshold.
Shortstop Didi Gregorius agreed at $8.25 million Friday, pitcher Sonny Gray at $6.5 million and setup man Dellin Betances at $5.1 million. Also reaching deals were relievers Adam Warren ($3,315,000) and Chasen Shreve ($825,000), and backup catcher Austin Romine ($1.1 million).

NEW YORK (AP) — Given he never pitched into the ninth inning this year, CC Sabathia is happy the New York Yankees brought back Aroldis Chapman.
"It's exciting when he comes in. It just lights up the Stadium," Sabathia said Wednesday at the Yankees' holiday food drive.

Yankees’ starter Eovaldi removed with right elbow discomfort
BOSTON (AP) — Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi has been removed after one inning from a game against the Red Sox with right elbow discomfort.
The team says he will be sent to New York for further examination.
The right-hander retired the side on 12 pitches, but left-hander Chasen Shreve began warming in the top of the second and entered in the bottom of the inning.
Eovaldi was 2-2 in four starts after returning to the rotation and has a team-high nine wins....
