Rays agree to terms with C Zunino, INF Duffy, RHP Roe
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Catcher Mike Zunino, third baseman Matt Duffy and relief pitcher Chaz Roe have agreed to one-year contracts with the Tampa Bay Rays and avoided arbitration.
The deals Friday left the Rays with one player proceeding to arbitration, outfielder Tommy Pham. He asked for $4.1 million and was offered $3.5 million.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Blake Snell is locked in on the Tampa Bay Rays' longshot postseason hopes, not thinking about winning the AL Cy Young Award.
Snell took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and got his major league-leading 19th win, leading the Rays over the Cleveland Indians 3-1 on Wednesday.
"I know that we're winning and that's the most important thing," Snell said. "That's what I'm focused on, that's what we're focused on. All the individual stuff I'll look at later."

Pinch-runner Adam Duvall scored the tiebreaking run on a delayed dash from third base and Flowers hit a two-run homer in Atlanta's four-run eighth inning as the Braves beat Tampa Bay 9-5 on Tuesday night to snap the Rays' eight-game winning streak.
NEW YORK (AP) — Jose Bautista had never before experienced the euphoria of a game-ending home run during his 15-year big league career. He can add that to his list of accomplishments.
Bautista's grand slam with two outs in theninth inning lifted the New York Mets over the Tampa Bay Rays 5-1 on Friday night.
"I was aware of it," Bautista of his first walk-off homer. "I guess sometimes it just takes a while."

The reliever will likely now start two out of every five games in the Rays' ongoing bullpen-day experiment.
Wilson Ramos homered, six Tampa Bay relievers combined for a five-hitter and the Rays beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1 on Tuesday night.
With right-handers Chris Archer and Jake Faria on the disabled list, Tampa Bay is using relievers to start three times through the rotation.

Ryne Stanek, Anthony Banda and Chaz Roe combined to give up three hits on a bullpen day as the Rays beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-1 on Saturday.
"We knew we're asking these guys a lot," Cash said. "Between Ryne Stanek and Anthony, both of them for young pitchers showed a ton of poise."

The 26-year-old Burgos was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks this week after posting a 6.23 ERA at Triple-A Reno this season.
Braves’ Roe goes on DL; former top pick Hursh recalled
MIAMI (AP) — Atlanta Braves right-hander Chaz Roe has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained back, and right-hander Jason Hursh has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Roe, who has been dealing with the injury since spring training, has allowed four runs in two innings of relief this season. Hursh, Atlanta's top pick in the 2013 draft, allowed no runs in two relief appearances in the minors.
Atlanta Braves set 25-man roster for opening day
ATLANTA (AP) — The Braves set their opening day roster by recalling catcher Anthony Recker to fill out the bench and assigning right-handed pitcher David Hernandez to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The team made the announcement Sunday, one day before they open the season at the New York Mets.
Recker's promotion means the Braves will carry five bench players, at least in the early weeks, when they have multiple off days.
