Girl Scout leader dismissed after event for crash victims
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A Girl Scout troop leader in Green Bay has lost her job in the wake of a fundraiser her troop held for families of victims of a fatal crash near Chippewa Falls.
The members of Troop 4029 helped host a vigil in Green Bay in honor of three Chippewa Falls-area scouts and a parent who were struck and killed while collecting trash along a rural highway earlier this month.

River City Community Church has leased the building, moving into the building in August that was known as The Lodge for the past decade.

Co-workers discover they are actually father and son
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) — It was a surprising and unlikely meeting for a father and son in western Wisconsin.
The two men have been co-workers at Rock Solid Transport in Chippewa Falls for two years, but never knew they were related. Nathan Boos was adopted at birth and did not know anything about his biological parents. His adoptive parents knew who they were, but never discussed it because Boos never asked.
Body of 2nd man missing from pontoon found in Wisconsin lake
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a second Minnesota man who was missing from a pontoon on Lake Wissota in western Wisconsin.
Investigators from the Chippewa County Sheriff's Department found the body of 22-year-old Antonio Robinson of Minneapolis around 9 a.m. Tuesday. The investigators used drones to locate Robinson's body near the Wissota Hydro Dam.

No, the problem that plagued the Deerfield boys basketball team from start to finish on Friday morning was much simpler: The Demons simply couldn’t make a doggone basket.

Former Beloit substitute teacher arrested on sexual assault charges
A former substitute teacher at Beloit Memorial High School has been arrested and charged in the alleged repeated sexual assault of a 14-year-old student during the past school year.
Tyler Edge, 24, was arrested in Chippewa Falls, where he was working as a teacher in that school district, Beloit police said.
He was placed on unpaid leave in Chippewa Falls, effective Wednesday.
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. — A Whitehall man has pleaded not guilty to repeatedly sexually assaulting the same child between 2007 and 2012 in Chippewa County.
Daniel A. Stafford, 66, was charged in April 2017 with five counts of repeated sexual assault of a child, and pleaded not guilty to all five count. in Chippewa County court Wednesday.
