Sigi Schmid steps down as coach of the LA Galaxy
LOS ANGELES (AP) — LA Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid stepped down Monday with just six games remaining in the Major League Soccer season, abruptly ending his second tenure in charge of the winningest franchise in league history.
Schmid, the winningest coach in MLS history, walked away just 42 regular-season games into his second stint with his hometown club.
Hayden Properties has purchased the 216-unit Stoneleigh on Spring Cypress apartments at 7215 Spring Cypress Road in Spring. Joey Rippel, Todd Marix, Chris Curry, Chris Young and Connor Phillips of HFF marketed the property for the seller, Seneca Investments. The property consists of 11 three-story residential buildings with units averaging 881 square feet. Tyler Ford of arranged acquisition financing. It is 94.4 percent leased.

The Rapids (1-1) allowed the fewest goals last season — 32— and blanked the New England Revolution last week. But a cross deflected off Colorado's Eric Miller past goalkeeper Tim Howard shortly before the end of the first half for the own goal.

LA Galaxy to introduce new coach; team announces signings
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — The LA Galaxy plan to introduce their new coach on Tuesday.
Team President Chris Klein, general manager Peter Vagenas and AEG President Dan Beckerman will be on hand for the news conference at StubHub Center in Carson.
Among the candidates are former Galaxy coach Sigi Schmid and Galaxy II coach Curt Onalfo.
LA Galaxy hires Peter Vagenas as GM, replacing Bruce Arena
CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Peter Vagenas replaced Bruce Arena as the LA Galaxy's general manager on Monday.
Galaxy President Chris Klein promoted Vagenas, the captain of the Galaxy's 2005 MLS championship team. Vagenas will be involved in the search for a coach to replace Arena, who was the Galaxy's coach and GM while leading the club to three MLS Cup titles.
Arena returned to the U.S. national team last week.
