Over the last three games, Silva has scored 32 against Auburn, 15 against Oklahoma State and 28 against No. 1 Tennessee. The two games before that he scored nine total.

Silva has taken that advice and powered the Gamecocks' surprising run through the Southeastern Conference.
South Carolina bolts to top of SEC basketball standings

Sindarius Thornwell never gets chance to take final shot for Gamecocks against Gonzaga
GLENDALE, Ariz. – South Carolina had the ball exactly where it wanted it, in the hands of senior guard Sindarius Thornwell, with the game and its season on the line.
Thornwell had literally and figuratively put the South Carolina team on his back throughout the NCAA Tournament and led the Gamecocks to the Final Four. With less than 12 seconds to play and the Gamecocks trailing 75-72, the ball was in his hands, but Thornwell never got the opportunity to take the last shot.
Gonzaga’s Przemek Karnowski takes a beating, keeps on battling to the end
GLENDALE, Ariz. – So often, Przemek Karnowski causes concern to his opponents.
He’s the big man putting pressure on the inside. He’s the one standing 1,000 feet high and blocking any offensive player who dares to drive through him.
But on Saturday, Karnowski felt the pressure South Carolina, and for a while he couldn’t seem to shake off those pesky Gamecocks. Particularly South Carolina’s sophomore forward Chris Silva.
South Carolina forward Chris Silva’s journey from Gabon to the Final Four
GLENDALE, Ariz. – The phone calls between Chris Silva and his dad are neither frequent nor cheap.
The simple logistics of arranging a call from Columbia, South Carolina, to Libreville, Gabon are prohibitive. There is the five-hour time difference, for starters.
It’s a routine the two have performed for four-and-a-half years, since Silva moved from Gabon to New Jersey as a 15-year-old, hoping to play basketball for Roselle Catholic High and, someday, in the NBA.
