Luke Kunin called up after Wild makes few roster moves at trade deadline
A new jersey or two didnt have to be procured.
There wasnt much change in the locker room setup.
And the lineup used Tuesday was familiar.
Such is the reality of the minimal turnover generated by the Wild before the NHLs trade deadline hit Monday, a decision by management that also signaled its confidence in the current contingent.
Wild score 3 in 2nd period to overcome 2-0 deficit vs Devils
NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau wasn't patting himself on the back after putting Mike Reilly, Chris Stewart and backup goaltender Alex Stalock into the lineup against the New Jersey Devils.
The three deserved a chance to play after sitting out a while. They made the most of it.
NEWARK, N.J. – Winger Chris Stewart had been loitering on the periphery of the Wild’s playoff push, skating as the extra on the fourth line in practice and taking a spectator’s perch when it was time for the puck drop.
But when he cracked the lineup Thursday, just his third nod this month after sitting as a healthy scratch seven of the previous nine games, Stewart made his rare appearance count.

Chris Stewart has never been in this position before, rotating in and out of the lineup.
The Wild winger emerged as an NHL regular after debuting with the Avalanche and was a staple with the Blues for quite a while before continuing his career in Buffalo and Anaheim.
And just last season, his second with the Wild following an abbreviated post-trade deadline stint in 2015, the rugged forward suited up for 79 games.

This time, it was worth it.

Devan Dubnyk had 28 saves for Minnesota (27-18-5), which earned its 10th road win of the season. Jason Zucker scored his 20th goal, and Charlie Coyle added his fifth in the third period.

Wild clear Zach Parise to make regular-season debut
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Wild left wing Zach Parise has been cleared to make his season debut, after missing the first 39 games because of back trouble.
Parise told reporters after practice on Monday afternoon that he's "got the green light" to play for the Wild on Tuesday night against Florida. Staal’s 2 goals help Wild rally past Senators 6-4
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — The slumping Minnesota Wild looked a little more like a Western Conference contender by the end of Tuesday night.
Eric Staal scored twice, Nate Prosser had a goal and an assist and the Wild rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat the Ottawa Senators 6-4.
Wild uses two goalies in edging Flames in shootout
A low-scoring duel was peculiar enough considering just how much the Wild was being outplayed early a lopsided feel that would typically result in a multi-goal deficit.
But what made the Wilds 2-1 shootout win over the Flames on Tuesday in front of 18,767 at Xcel Energy Center even more special and frankly, impressive was that it took two goaltenders to complete the job.
Protesters call national park plan for Utah monument a ploy
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Environmental groups on Tuesday blasted a legislative proposal by U.S. Rep. Jets score 7 straight in 7-2 win over Wild
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — The Winnipeg Jets are off to their best start ever thanks to a wild finish Monday night.
Linemates Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor each had a goal and two assists, and the Jets scored seven straight goals to beat the Minnesota Wild 7-2.
Joel Armia, Jacob Trouba, Mathieu Perreault and Bryan Little also scored for the Jets. Armia added an assist.
Connor Hellebuyck made 17 saves for the Winnipeg, which has won four straight and seven of eight at home.
This seasons first matchup against the Blues was always going to hold significance.
After all, the Blues were the ones who cut the Wilds franchise-best run in 2016-17 short when they bounced their Central Division rival from the first round of the playoffs earlier this year in five games.
Coyle, Stewart score in shootout; Wild beats Avalanche 3-2
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Three forwards have been doing the bulk of the recent scoring for the Minnesota Wild.
Two of them scored in regulation Friday, but two other players scored in the shootout to give the Wild a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
Charlie Coyle and Chris Stewart scored against Jonathan Bernier in the one-on-one competition and Alex Stalock stopped Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen as Minnesota improved to 6-1-1 in its past eight games.
The Wild stuck with the same formula.
Winger Nino Niederreiter scored.
So did the power play.
And the team received the saves from its goaltender this time, backup Alex Stalock when it needed them most, a combination that yielded a 3-2 shootout win over the Avalanche during a matinee meeting Friday at Xcel Energy Center that improved the Wild to 6-1-1 in its last eight games.
Forwards Charlie Coyle and Chris Stewart scored in the shootout, while Stalock turned aside both shots he faced.
Wild coach Bruce Boudreau was so frustrated with his teams power play and overall lack of emotion Thursday night that he decided to send a message.
Trailing Nashville by three goals, Boudreau benched his top two power-play units, inserting Marcus Foligno, Joel Eriksson Ek and Chris Stewart.
Sometimes you throw somebody else out, and it gets them really mad at you, and then they go out and play, Boudreau said.
The Wild has enjoyed this climb from the bottom of the Central Division standings, but there was still an uneasy air hovering over Bruce Boudreaus team at Wednesdays practice.
Devan Dubnyk cant stop every shot forever. Eventually, his three-game shutout streak will end, and Jason Zucker might not rescue everyone with his recent scoring touch.

Jason Zucker, Mikko Koivu keep adapting in linemate Mikael Granlund’s absence
From the standpoint of familiarity, Jason Zucker acknowledged it’s been a bit of a challenge. The line that includes the Wild winger and center Mikko Koivu has been without its usual third cog, Mikael Granlund, for the past five games — and no one is certain when he will be back.
That has forced Zucker and Koivu, two-thirds of the Wild’s most dynamic and well-rounded trio last season, to adapt to a few new partners.
Chris Stewart scores twice, Wild beats Blackhawks 5-2
CHICAGO (AP) — Chris Stewart and the injury-depleted Minnesota Wild got the breaks they needed for their first victory of the season.
Stewart broke a tie midway through the third period with the first of his two goals and the Wild beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Thursday night.
Jason Zucker had a goal and an assist, and Devan Dubnyk made 36 saves to help the Wild (1-1-1) hand Chicago (3-1-1) its first regulation loss.
