Martin headed back to Dodgers in trade with Blue Jays
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It's fitting that Russell Martin is returning to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He's pining for a World Series title, too.
The Dodgers reacquired Martin in a trade with Toronto on Friday, receiving the veteran catcher in exchange for a couple minor leaguers. Los Angeles has won two straight National League pennants but lost each time in the World Series. Martin has never even played in a World Series in 13 seasons with the Dodgers, Yankees, Pirates and Blue Jays.

Overmatched: Dodgers’ moves don’t work, down 2-0 in Series
BOSTON (AP) — Maybe this World Series just isn't in the cards for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Trying to play the matchup game, manager Dave Roberts' team instead looked overmatched at Fenway Park. They staggered home after a 4-2 loss Wednesday night, down 2-0 to the do-everything-right Boston Red Sox.
"We've got to do a better job of responding," catcher Austin Barnes said.
Not even a bit of new-age strategy — and a curious sight — could save them.
World Series Game 1 to be cold one for Dodgers, Red Sox
BOSTON (AP) — Hooting and hollering, Chris Taylor and a couple of Dodgers took aim at the Green Monster. With their arms, not bats.
Standing in left field, they kept throwing balls at a small, square space in the scoreboard, shouting every time a miss clanged off the metal letters.
"I've got good aim!" Taylor shouted after he finally tossed one through, ending the contest Monday.
A lot of fun for Los Angeles, frolicking at Fenway Park during a World Series workout.
Taylor doing it all for Dodgers in World Series return
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Chris Taylor is sparking Los Angeles with his bat and his glove, just like old times.
Only this October, the do-it-all Dodger is looking to finish the job.
Taylor capped a terrific NL Championship Series when he made an outstanding catch to help Los Angeles beat the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 in Game 7 on Saturday night. He hit a high-arching, two-strike solo shot to left field in the 10th inning, lifting the Dodgers to a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies that extended Los Angeles' NL West lead to 1 ½ games on Tuesday night.
"In this tight division race that was big," said the soft-spoken outfielder who has struggled with his swing this season.

Hill sparkles for Dodgers in 11-1 rout of last-place Padres
LOS ANGELES (AP) — In the early going, Rich Hill was perfect. Only he didn't feel that way.
