UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) — Kieffer Bellows and Cal Clutterbuck scored power-play goals in the first period to help the New York Islanders beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 on Sunday in the preseason opener for both teams.
Bellows opened the scoring at 6:55, and Clutterbuck connected with 4:14 left in the period. Sebastian Aho added a second-period goal.

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (AP) — The New York Islanders agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent forward Tom Kuhnhackl on Monday.
The 26-year-old right wing had four goals and 12 assists in 57 games for Pittsburgh last season. He has 11 goals and 28 assists in 168 career games over three seasons — all with the Penguins.
Kuhnhackl, who was on Pittsburgh's Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2016 and 2017, also has three goals and four assists in 47 career playoff games.

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Islanders have signed goaltender Christopher Gibson to a one-year, two-way contract.
The Islanders announced the signing of the 23-year-old on Monday. Terms weren't immediately available.
Gibson made his NHL debut with the Islanders last season, appearing in four games. His first NHL win came on April 5 at Washington, clinching the Islanders' Stanley Cup Playoff berth.
