Northern Illinois wins 6th straight, beats Toledo 38-15
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Marcus Childers ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score to lead Northern Illinois to a 38-15 victory over Toledo on Wednesday night for its sixth straight win.
Tre Harbison ran for 139 yards, and Marcus Jones added 101 yards rushing and a touchdown for Northern Illinois (7-3, 6-0 Mid-American Conference), which snapped a two-game skid against Toledo (5-5, 3-3).
Toledo’s 3rd quarter keys 51-24 win over Western Michigan
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Eli Peters replaced injured starter Mitchell Guadagni and threw three second-half touchdown passes to help Toledo beat Western Michigan 51-24 on Thursday night.
Guadagni appeared to hurt his shoulder late in the second quarter and Peters opened the third with a 34-yard touchdown pass on a flea flicker to Reggie Gilliam for a 30-17 lead. Western Michigan fumbled on its next possession, and Peters found Cody Thompson for an 18-yard touchdown for a 20-point advantage.
Guadagni passes for 4 TDs, runs for 2 in Toledo’s 63-44 win
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Mitchell Guadagni passed for four touchdowns and ran for two more and Toledo outscored Nevada 63-44 on Saturday.
Guadagni, a junior who took over starting duties this season, was 15-of-24 passing for 211 yards and rushed for 131 yards on 15 carries.
Cody Thompson caught three touchdown passes, one from Desmond Phillips, who took a handoff from Guadagni.
Guadagni, Toledo roll over VMI 66-3 in season opener
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Mitchell Guadagni passed for 265 yards and three touchdowns in leading defending Mid-American Conference champion Toledo to a 66-3 victory over VMI on Saturday night in a season opener.

Woodside with 2 TDs leads Toledo over Nevada 37-24
RENO, Nevada (AP) — Logan Woodside threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns as Toledo beat Nevada 37-24 on Saturday night.
Terry Swanson added two more TDs and led the Rockets (2-0) with 101 yards rushing.
Jameson Vest kicked a 25-yard field goal midway through the first quarter and the Rockets never trailed after that.
Johnson’s 99-yard return sparks Toledo to victory over Elon
TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Diontae Johnson returned the second-half kickoff 99 yards to break open a close game and Toledo opened the season with a 47-13 win over Elon on Thursday night.
Johnson caught four passes for 102 yards, including a 69-yard catch.
Logan Woodside threw for 314 yards on 19-of-31 passing for the Rockets, the preseason pick to win the West Division in a poll of MAC coaches. Cody Thompson pulled in five passes for 112 yards.
Behind QB Woodside, Toledo threatening to take back the MAC
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — With the Mid-American Conference's marquee quarterback, Toledo might be ready to capture some the magic that earned Western Michigan a piece of the national spotlight last season.
Hunting their first MAC championship since 2004, the Rockets have plenty of returning talent. Fifteen starters are back from last year's 9-4 team, including 4,000-yard passer Logan Woodside and his top receiver, Cody Thompson. Woodside's 45 touchdown passes last season was tops in the nation.
