LOS ANGELES (AP) — Already playing without top center Matt Duchene, the Ottawa Senators could have thrown in the towel when Colin White sustained an injury early in the first period against the Los Angeles Kings.
Instead, the young Senators showed their mettle to win consecutive road games for the first time this season.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — In a matchup of teams with eight-game losing streaks, Colin White was able to provide some much-needed relief for the Ottawa Senators.
White's 11th goal at 1:34 of overtime lifted Ottawa to a 2-1 victory over the reeling Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night.
While the Senators got off to a good start on their three-game road trip, the Ducks have lost a franchise-record nine straight — surpassing an eight-game skid in October 1996.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Eric Staal ensured two solid periods didn't go to waste for the Minnesota Wild.
Staal scored his second goal of the game with 5:58 left and Minnesota overcame a sloppy third period to beat the Ottawa Senators 6-4 on Wednesday night.
Matt Dumba also scored twice as the Wild ended a two-game slide and won for the 12th time in 17 games. Mikael Granlund had three assists.
"We gutted it out and got the job done," Staal said. "It doesn't matter how you do it."

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Ottawa coach Guy Boucher flashed a big smile while he talked about the Senators' resiliency in a comeback win against the Eastern Conference's top team.
Rookie Brady Tkachuk and Ryan Dzingel scored during Ottawa's four-goal third period, and the Senators beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-4 on Saturday night.
"A great rallying between the second and third," Boucher said. "A great third period."

OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) — Colin White has only had 11 games to make a positive impression in Ottawa. But with the Senators missing four veteran forwards Tuesday night, that's exactly what he did.
The 21-year-old White scored his first NHL goal and undermanned Ottawa went on to a 5-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils.
White, who has split time between Ottawa and the American Hockey League this season, looked right at home playing alongside Matt Duchene and Mike Hoffman, who also scored.
