Ex-college hockey coach’s court-ordered award now $4.2M
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — A discrimination and retaliation award is growing for a former women's hockey coach who sued the University of Minnesota Duluth.
A federal judge granted a motion Wednesday to award Shannon Miller an additional $460,000 in pay and future benefits. That brings the total award to the former coach to about $4.2 million.

BOSTON (AP) — When Eric Williams and the rest of Northeastern's senior class first arrived on campus, winning the Beanpot once — just once — was a goal they struggled to cling to.
The Huskies had not claimed Boston's college hockey bragging rights since 1988, a slump that ended last year.
"Everyone in that locker room was so eager to be the first team to break that streak. We got that feeling and we wanted to experience it again this year," Williams said, "and every year after."

Boston College signs hockey coach York to extension
BOSTON (AP) — Boston College has signed hockey coach Jerry York to a contract extension.
The school said Monday that the five-time NCAA champion received a multiyear deal. It did not elaborate.
York is college hockey's winningest coach with 1,063 career victories heading into Monday night's Beanpot championship game against Northeastern. It is his 25th season in Chestnut Hill. He has won four NCAA titles at his alma mater and also led Bowling Green to the 1984 championship.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman has been interested in Drake Caggiula for a while.
He finally got his man.
Chicago acquired Caggiula and defenseman Jason Garrison in a trade with Edmonton on Sunday for defensemen Brandon Manning and Robin Norell. Caggiula will report to the Blackhawks once he resolves a visa issue, while Garrison is headed to the minors if he clears waivers.
Officer gets probation in attack on college hockey player
BOSTON (AP) — A New Jersey police officer who pleaded guilty to his role in an unprovoked attack on a Boston College hockey player in a pizza shop could have the charge dismissed if he fully complies with conditions of a two-year probationary period.
Prosecutors say 27-year-old Daniel Hunt, of Barrington, New Jersey, pleaded guilty Tuesday to assault and battery in the attack on Kevin Lohan at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 19. Lohan needed his jaw wired shut for three weeks.
2 charged in assault on Boston College hockey player
BOSTON (AP) — A New Jersey police officer and another man have been charged in connection with an altercation at a Boston pizza shop that landed a Boston College hockey player in the hospital with a serious jaw injury.
Massachusetts prosecutors say 27-year-old Daniel Hunt, of Barrington, New Jersey, and 29-year-old Ian Salerno, of Philadelphia, face assault and battery charges.
The confrontation occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 19.
