Ta-Nehisi Coates deletes widely read Twitter account
NEW YORK (AP) — Ta-Nehisi Coates has had enough.
The influential author and journalist has deleted his widely followed Twitter account, writing "peace, y'all. I'm out." At Harvard, education through athletics (and vice-versa)
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — When Harvard sophomore Seth Towns awoke in his riverside dorm room Wednesday morning, he had options.
He could work out at the gym to prepare for the upcoming Ivy League basketball season. He could slog downstairs for another dining hall breakfast with his roommates. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Political activist Cornel West and faith leaders from around the county have announced plans to counter-protest white nationalists who will be rallying against a Virginia city's planned removal of a Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee statue.
Cornel West is scheduled to speak at Central Washington University on Nov. 3. The event is part of the 2017-18 Social Justice and Human Rights Dialogues series, according to a news release.
The theme of next school year's series is sustainability, and talks during the fall quarter will focus on questions regarding that topic.

So, given this history it would seem surprising that Maher would so readily toss his friends under the bus by his casual on-air use of the N-word.

Some films are also concerts, and if you enjoy music as much as a great documentary, you are going to be thrilled by “Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary.”
As the Democratic Party tilts ever leftward, it’s still not far enough left for some, especially some in what has become known as the Bernie Sanders wing.
After all, the Vermont senator is still officially an “independent” even as he sought the Democratic presidential nomination. So like-minded folks on the left side of the spectrum are urging him to make the break complete.
