The 25-year-old Plea, a quick and powerful striker, will be doubtless linked with a move in the summer transfer window. He read midfielder Jean Michael Seri's clever pass and had enough strength to hold off a defender before sliding to poke the ball into the bottom corner in the 67th minute.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — In a single-file line, the all-ages group of 40 shuffled gingerly onto the ice. Some wore jeans, some wore sweatpants and one was in gym shorts. A few looked athletic; others not so much. There was a sense of nervous excitement.

We all know the "Miracle on Ice" U.S. hockey team win from the 1980 Olympics. Now we've seen the remarkable U.S. "reject" curling team come back from a 2-4 start to win five straight matches and the gold medal in South Korea.
I've seen this accomplishment referred to with the same "Miracle on Ice" term. But I say they deserve their own designation for their achievement, and I propose the "MiraCurlers on Ice."
