Houston quarterback D'Eriq King is expected to miss the rest of the season after tearing the meniscus in his right knee during the Cougars' victory against Tulane, a person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press on Friday night.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team was not planning an official announcement about King's injury.
King's injury was first reported by the Houston Chronicle.
HOUSTON (AP) — Patrick Carr ran for a career-high 139 yards and two touchdowns and Houston rolled to a 48-17 victory over Tulane on Thursday night.

King had a hand in a career-high seven touchdowns, throwing for 419 yards and five scores and running for 134 yards and two more touchdowns in Houston's 57-36 victory over No. 21 South Florida.

Houston, trailing 26-17 early in the fourth quarter, scored 17 points in 91 seconds — during a 24-0 spurt. Dalton Witherspoon kicked a go-ahead, 27-26, field goal with 7:51 to go and the Cougars led by 15 points seven plays later.
