Florida hires UTSA’s David Turner as defensive line coach
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida has hired David Turner as the team's defensive line coach.
Turner, who has 33 years of coaching experience, worked with Gators coach Dan Mullen for four seasons (2009, 2010-12) at Mississippi State.
Turner has 16 years of coaching experience in the Southeastern Conference. Mullen says Turner "understands that this is a line-of-scrimmage league and our defensive line will continue to play fast, physical and aggressive under his leadership."
Florida hires former Redskins assistant Gray as CBs coach
GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida has hired Torrian Gray as its cornerbacks coach, bringing him back to Gainesville to replace Charlton Warren.
Warren left the Gators to take a similar position at rival Georgia.
Gray, who has 19 years of coaching experience, worked at Florida during the 2016 season. He spent the last two years with the NFL's Washington Redskins before being fired in January.

ATLANTA (AP) — Florida capped its big comeback season — and left Michigan reeling again.
Lamical Perine had a 5-yard scoring catch and 53-yard touchdown run to lead No. 10 Florida's strong rushing attack Saturday, helping the Gators affirm their return to relevance with a 41-15 rout of No. 8 Michigan in the Peach Bowl.

OCALA, Fla. (AP) — One of Florida's top recruits was released from jail early Wednesday after allegedly kicking a woman's car and breaking her cellphone during an argument.
Justin Watkins, a four-star prospect and incoming freshman from Clermont, was arrested Tuesday on a misdemeanor complaint of trespassing on school grounds. According to jail records, he was released on a $500 bond.
