LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Four former Nebraska Cornhuskers and two former Chadron State Eagles will be inducted into the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame.
The ex-Huskers entering the Hall are defensive end Mike Rucker (1995-98), punter Kyle Larson (2001-03) and offensive linemen Dan Schmidt (1974-76) and Bob Sledge (1986-88). Inductees from Chadron State will be running back Danny Woodhead (2004-07) and defensive end Casey Beran (1996-99).

CLEVELAND (AP) — An Ohio man has been sentenced to nearly two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to bilking four NFL players out of more than $350,000.
Prosecutors say he spent the money on a luxury SUV, sports tickets and gambling.
A federal judge in Cleveland also told Jonathan Pippin to pay back more than $358,000 and undergo addiction treatment.
Pippin apologized in court Monday while blaming his lavish lifestyle and alcoholism.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Chargers have lost cornerback Jason Verrett to a season-ending knee injury even as it appears that rookie defensive end Joey Bosa is finally ready to make his NFL debut.
Verrett confirmed Wednesday that he has a torn ACL in his left knee that will require surgery.
"My season is done with," he said.
Verrett, who was a Pro Bowler last year in his second NFL season, said he felt pain the past three games and had an MRI on Monday that revealed the injury.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Chargers have signed running back Dexter McCluster to replace the injured Danny Woodhead.
The move was announced Tuesday. To make room on the roster, the Chargers waived wide receiver-kick returner Isaiah Burse.
McCluster has played six NFL seasons with Kansas City and Tennessee. He was a Pro Bowler in 2013.
