KENT, Ohio (AP) — Jaylin Walker scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Kent State used a 50-point second half to beat Northern Illinois 78-68 on Saturday.

DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Eugene German had 27 points, seven rebounds and five 3-pointers and Northern Illinois used a big second half to rally past Akron 73-56 on Saturday.
Akron led 34-25 at halftime but NIU dominated the second half by outscoring the Zips 48-22. Akron only made four second-half field goals through the first 16 minutes, to trail 66-49 with 3:46 left, and the Huskies were shooting 75 percent at the same point.

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dante Thorpe scored 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting with five assists, Eugene German added 23 points and Northern Illinois broke away from Miami (Ohio) 83-70 Tuesday night.
German and Thorpe scored all 13 points as Northern Illinois (9-6, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) stretched its lead with a 13-2 run over 4 1/2 minutes late in the game.

Bowling Green built a 33-19 lead by intermission and maintained a double-digit advantage well into the second half, but the Huskies went on a 12-0 run that started with a Levi Bradley free throw and ended on a Dante Thorpe layup that got them within a point, 52-51 with six minutes to play.
N. Illinois uses 16-3 run to down Kent St. 72-59
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) — Levi Bradley scored 25 points and a tied a career-high with 14 rebounds and Northern Illinois pulled away in the second half to beat Kent State 75-61 on Tuesday night in a Mid-American Conference opener.
Bradley also set a career best with 14-of-14 shooting from the free throw line. Northern Illinois led 33-32 at halftime before Desmond Ridenour's layup put the Golden Flashes up 51-48 with 11 minutes left.
