Bowman scores 23 to carry Miami (Ohio) past Ohio 79-59
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Bam Bowman had a career-high 23 points plus 12 rebounds as Miami (Ohio) romped past Ohio 79-59 on Saturday.
Darrian Ringo had 14 points for Miami (Ohio) (13-11, 5-6 Mid-American Conference). Nike Sibande added 13 points and seven rebounds. Jalen Adaway had 10 points and six rebounds for the home team.
Teyvion Kirk had 18 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Bobcats (11-11, 3-7). Jason Carter added 16 points. Ben Vander Plas had 12 points.
Navigato’s late 3 helps Toledo to 66-63 win over Miami (OH)
OXORD, Ohio (AP) — Nate Navigato scored 20 points, including a 3-pointer and a layup in the final minute to assure Toledo a 66-63 victory over Miami (Ohio) on Tuesday night.
Miami (Ohio) led 63-61 following two Darrian Ringo free throws with 1:42 remaining. Navigato nailed a 3 for a 64-63 advantage and drove for a basket with 15 seconds remaining. Miami's Dalonte Brown missed a 3 with seven seconds left and Marreon Jackson grabbed the defensive rebound the seal the win.
Miami (Ohio) powers past Akron 68-61
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Darrian Ringo had 16 points and nine assists and Miami (Ohio) used a late run to power past Akron 68-61 for the RedHawks' first conference win of the season on Saturday.
Akron matched its largest lead of the game when Daniel Utomi's layup made it 43-36 with 13 minutes to go. Miami then went on a 21-2 run to take control, pushing to the largest lead of the game at 57-45 with five minutes to go.
Thorpe, German combine for 47, N. Illinois tops Miami (Ohio)
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dante Thorpe scored 24 points on 10-for-15 shooting with five assists, Eugene German added 23 points and Northern Illinois broke away from Miami (Ohio) 83-70 Tuesday night.
German and Thorpe scored all 13 points as Northern Illinois (9-6, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) stretched its lead with a 13-2 run over 4 1/2 minutes late in the game.
Pippen is clutch, Kent State edges Miami (Ohio) 90-83 OT
KENT, Ohio (AP) — Kevin Zabo scored 21 points, sophomore Danny Pippen scored 17 and blocked a potential game-winning shot in regulation and scored seven points in overtime as Kent State went the extra five minutes to defeat Miami (Ohio) 90-83 Tuesday night.
Kent State (15-15, 9-8 Mid-American) has won two straight, but lost a chance for a first-round bye in the MAC Tournament after Eastern Michigan also won Tuesday.
Fletcher has double-double to lead Toledo to 73-67 win
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Tre'Shaun Fletcher scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, Nate Navigato had three 3-pointers and 19 points and Toledo defeated Miami (Ohio) 73-67 on Friday night.
Fletcher posted his 11th double-double this season for the Rockets (18-7, 10-2), who lead the Mid-American West. Toledo and East leader Buffalo (10-1) are the only MAC teams with fewer than five conference losses.
Brown, Ringo lead Miami (Ohio) to 79-64 win over Akron
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Dalonte Brown scored 17 points and Darrian Ringo had 12 points, 11 assists and four steals to propel Miami (Ohio) to a 79-64 victory over Akron on Tuesday night.
Brown connected on 6 of 11 shots to help the RedHawks (12-10, 5-4 Mid-American Conference) shoot 48 percent from the floor. Ringo picked up his third points/assists double-double of the season and topped 10 assists in a game for the fifth time.
Sibande’s 22 helps Miami (Ohio) top Central Michigan 70-61
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Nike Sibande scored a career-high 22 points and made all four of his 3-point shots as Miami (Ohio) defeated Central Michigan 70-61 Tuesday night.
Logan McLane added 13 points and eight rebounds for Miami (11-9, 4-3 Mid-American Conference), Isaiah Lands-Coleman added 12 points on four 3-pointers. Darrian Ringo, ranked seventh nationally in total assists, dished 10, the sixth time this season he's reached double-digit assists.
Ringo, McLean spur Miami (OH) to 71-53 win over Ball State
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Darrian Ringo knocked down all five of his 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 and Logan McLane scored 20 points to lead Miami (Ohio) to a 71-53 win over Ball State on Saturday.
Ringo and McLane had each had five steals, a career-best for McLane. The two combined to shoot 58 percent (15 of 26) from the floor, including 7 of 8 from beyond the arc for the RedHawks (10-9, 3-3 Mid-American Conference).
Harris’s double-double lifts Buffalo past Miami (OH) 82-66
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Jeremy Harris scored 23 points and had 10 rebounds and CJ Massinburg added a double-double and Buffalo pulled away in the second half to beat Miami (OH) 82-66 on Saturday.
Buffalo (12-5, 4-0 Mid-American Conference) led 34-33 at halftime and started the second half with a 16-7 run with Harris scoring eight points for a 50-40 lead. Harris added a dunk and a layup, Jayvon Graves made a 3, and the Bulls extended the lead to 57-42 with 12:44 left.
Ringo leads Miami (OH) to 80-69 win over Kent St
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Darrian Ringo scored 16 points, including 12 in the first half when Miami (Ohio) built a big lead, and added seven assists to guide the RedHawks to an 80-69 victory over Kent State on Tuesday night.
Western Michigan rallies to beat Miami (OH) 67-62
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Bryce Moore scored 13 of his 16 points in the second half and Western Michigan beat Miami (Ohio) 67-62 on Saturday for its fourth straight victory.
Thomas Wilder added 13 points and Josh Davis scored 10 and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Broncos (10-5, 2-0 Mid-American Conference), who scored 16 points off of 13 RedHawks' turnovers.
Brown’s double-double helps Miami (Ohio) beat Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) — Freshman Dalonte Brown had his second double-double and Darrian Ringo scored 11 points with seven assists and four steals to help Miami (Ohio) beat Bowling Green 77-72 on Tuesday night in the Mid-American Conference opener for both teams.
Brown finished with 16 points and career highs of 17 rebounds and three blocks. Rod Mills Jr. added 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-3 3-pointers, and Nike Sibande scored 10 for Miami (8-6).
Maric, Strus lead DePaul past Miami (Ohio) 83-66
CHICAGO (AP) — Marin Maric scored 22 points in 24 minutes off the bench and Max Strus scored 21, 16 in the first half, to lead DePaul over Miami (Ohio) 83-66 on Thursday night.
Maric, who scored 16 points in the second half, hit 6 of 8 shots and 9 of 10 from the free-throw line, while Strus made four 3-pointers. Eli Cain added 19 points, 15 in the second half, and Tre'Darius McCallum had 10 points and eight rebounds.
Miami (Ohio) defeats NAIA Rio Grande 109-70 behind Bowman
OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Nike Sibande scored 21 points and Bam Bowman posted career highs with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Miami (Ohio) beat NAIA Rio Grande 109-70 on Sunday.
Bowman missed just one of seven shots from the field and was 7 for 10 from the free throw line. Darrian Ringo scored 12 points and made all five of his shots, Jalen Adaway scored 11 and Jake Wright finished with 10.
