Packers: Now with Vikings, Datone Jones says Green Bay changed his position without warning
GREEN BAY — Datone Jones certainly isn’t the first player to leave the Green Bay Packers for the rival Minnesota Vikings. And, given the lengthy list of border crossers — Brett Favre, Ryan Longwell and Greg Jennings being the most prominent among the recent defectors — he almost certainly won’t be the last.
GREEN BAY — The phrase “as expected” was made for the Green Bay Packers’ decision to exercise their fifth-year option on Pro Bowl safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
The Packers picked up their 2014 first-round pick’s option for 2018 on Monday, a long-expected move that is likely a precursor to a long-term deal.

Mariota’s mobility presents Packers a pass rush predicament
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Marcus Mariota's mobility presents a predicament to the Green Bay Packers' pass rush.
Go after Mariota too aggressively and the Tennessee Titans quarterback might break free for a big gain with his legs.
The chess match on the football field takes place on Sunday when the Packers travel to Nashville to face Tennessee.
"Stay in our rush lanes, just be as disruptive as we can," Packers pass rusher Datone Jones said after practice Thursday. "Just got to rush smart."

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — An unusually early bye week did the Green Bay Packers some good.

"The bye couldn't have come at a (more) perfect time," veteran safety Morgan Burnett said. "Now we're getting guys back, getting guys healthy, and that's what you really want going down the stretch."
Datone Jones looks to bolster Packers defense
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Running back Eddie Lacy isn't the only Green Bay Packer who slimmed down in the offseason.

Jones said he's shed about 15 pounds since last season in the defensive lineman's conversion to playing more at outside linebacker.
