Packers’ Davante Adams questionable for Lions game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Packers receiver Davante Adams is questionable for Green Bay's season finale against the Detroit Lions because of a knee injury.
Adams missed the first two days of practice this week, though he did say that he was optimistic that would be able to play. Adams needs to two catches and 134 yards receiving to set single-season franchise marks in each category.
Adams optimistic about playing with Packers records in sight
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Packers wideout Davante Adams is optimistic that he will be able to play in Green Bay's season finale against the Detroit Lions, a game in which he would have a shot to break a couple of franchise receiving records.
Adams missed practice on Wednesday. The star receiver hurt his right knee in last week's 44-38 overtime win over the New York Jets.
Rodgers leads Packers to wild 44-38 overtime win over Jets
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Aaron Rodgers refused to sit this one out, even with the playoffs out of the question. And he willed the Green Bay Packers from setting some dubious franchise history.
A banged-up Rodgers threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 6:23 left in overtime, capping an eye-popping performance by leading the Packers to a wild 44-38 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.
Packers’ Davante Adams has club receiving records in sight
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — At some point soon, Davante Adams will reach out to an old friend, someone who instilled the kind of good habits that have helped make the Green Bay Packers star one of the best receivers in the NFL.
Adams might even break a record held by his buddy and former teammate, Jordy Nelson.
Adams has 1,315 yards receiving going into this weekend's game against the New York Jets, 205 yards shy of eclipsing the club single-season mark set of 1,519 set by Nelson in 2014.
When Vikes visit Pats, Rhodes has ‘good chance’ of playing
EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Xavier Rhodes was trailing Green Bay's Davante Adams in coverage along the sideline late in the fourth quarter last week. Aaron Rodgers let the ball fly and Minnesota's best cornerback raced to catch up.
Jones helps Packers run away for 31-12 win over Dolphins
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — For a change, it was the Packers in a runaway.
Aaron Jones ran for career highs of 145 yards and two scores, Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams connected for two touchdown passes and the Green Bay beat the Miami Dolphins 31-12 on Sunday.
Adams’ ascent to productive WR for Packers started vs. Pats
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers' Davante Adams can trace his ascent to becoming one of the most productive receivers in the NFL to a cold night in late November four years ago.
That game against the New England Patriots is proof of how much a rookie must be prepared at any time to step up, even against the toughest of opponents.
"Well I mean, I let everybody know as far as my approach to the game ever since I got here was just to be ready at all times," Adams said this week.
Receivers Cobb, Allison out again for Packers vs. 49ers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers will be without receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison against the San Francisco 49ers because of hamstring injuries.
It's the second straight week that the Packers will be without Cobb and Allison. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have to rely again on rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown behind top wideout Davante Adams.
Packers WRs Cobb, Allison questionable for game vs. 49ers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers say starting receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison are questionable for their game Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.

Packers’ Randall Cobb ruled out against Lions
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers will be without at least one of their starting receivers Sunday at Detroit.
Randall Cobb has been ruled out, a hamstring injury sidelining him for the second consecutive week.
Davante Adams, who injured a calf at Wednesday's practice, will practice Saturday, coach Mike McCarthy said, and is listed as questionable. Also questionable is Geronimo Allison, who suffered a concussion during last week's victory over Buffalo and has not practiced this week.
Packers could be short-handed at receiver against Lions
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers were missing star quarterback Aaron Rodgers when they closed last season with a road loss to the Detroit Lions.
When the Packers return to Detroit on Sunday, Rodgers could be without his top three receivers.
Davante Adams injured a calf on Wednesday and did not practice on Thursday.
Randall Cobb injured a hamstring last week, didn't play on Sunday against Buffalo and hasn't practiced this week.
Packers offense looks to rebound after sluggish game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Whatever issues his quarterback has with his offensive game plans, Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy made sure he didn't escalate the tension by airing his own frustrations on Monday.
On Sunday, Rodgers reacted to the team's 22-0 victory over the Buffalo Bills by saying that the offense was "terrible" and calling the 423-yard effort "as bad as we've played on offense with that many yards in a long time."
Resurgent Bills aim for another road upset, face Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — This two-week trip through the NFC North was supposed to be one of the toughest stretches of the Buffalo Bills' schedule.
At Minnesota. At Green Bay. After two double-digit losses to open the season, the Bills seemed destined to have a miserable time in the Midwest.
The outlook has changed after a stunning 27-6 win over the Vikings.
It's off to Lambeau Field now for resurgent Buffalo (1-2) to face the still out-of-sorts Packers (1-1-1) on Sunday.
Vikings’ Sendejo fined $53,482 by NFL for hit vs. Packers
NEW YORK (AP) — Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo was fined $53,482 by the NFL on Friday for his hit during a play in Minnesota's tie at Green Bay last weekend.
Sendejo was penalized 15 yards for unnecessary roughness after tackling Packers wide receiver Davante Adams in the third quarter. The safety knocked into Adams with his right shoulder just after Xavier Rhodes made initial contact.
Packers TE Jimmy Graham having immediate impact on offense
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — In his first two games with the Green Bay Packers, Jimmy Graham's impact on the offense has been obvious — in two very different ways.
He caught just two passes for 8 yards in the season opener against Chicago, but the attention Graham drew allowed wide receivers Randall Cobb, Davante Adams and Geronimo Allison to have big days.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers active for Vikings game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is active for the game against the Minnesota Vikings.
He was questionable coming into the day with a left knee injury.
The two-time NFL MVP was held out from practice at midweek but went through the team's light practice on Saturday. Rodgers got hurt in the second quarter last week against the Bears before returning in the second half to lead a come-from-behind victory.

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. (AP) — When NFL officials visited Bears camp to show a film on rule changes aimed at player safety, inside linebacker Danny Trevathan realized he'd have to alter his style.
"Shoot," Trevathan said. "I was on the film."
One of last season's most physical and controversial plays landed Trevathan a one-game suspension, and joined several other incidents of brutality in causing the NFL to curtail the use of helmets in tackling.
GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was hit in the face with a line drive during a charity softball game.
Matthews was pitching during Saturday's game when offensive lineman Lucas Patrick hit the ball directly into Matthews' face, knocking him to the ground. The Green Bay Press Gazette reports Matthews got up, covered his face with his glove, then walked to the dugout.
NFL draft preview: Can a rookie receiver fill Packers’ Jordy Nelson void? The odds are against it
GREEN BAY — The Green Bay Packers’ decision to sever ties with popular wide receiver Jordy Nelson last month didn’t just tick off their quarterback or sadden a legion of fans who so loved the veteran pass-catcher that they named their dogs after him.
It also created — or, based on their interest in pricey free agents Alan Robinson and Sammy Watkins — or exacerbated, a need at the position.
To James Jones, dollars-and-cents decisions on Packers’ Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb must make football sense, too
GREEN BAY — James Jones admits he’s biased when it comes to Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Then again, the ex-Green Bay Packers wide receiver was willing to call Nelson “old,” so maybe Jones is able to look at his two former teammates more objectively than he thinks.
Packers WR Adams replaces Julio Jones in Pro Bowl
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has been named to the Pro Bowl to replace injured Atlanta star Julio Jones.
Adams, who led the Packers with 74 catches for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns despite missing time with concussions, will be making his first trip to the Pro Bowl.
Jones, the NFC's top receiver in fan voting, caught 88 passes in the regular season. He battled an ankle injury late in the season.
Packers: Another day, another deal – Corey Linsley gets three-year extension
GREEN BAY – Well, if the Green Bay Packers were looking for a way to get people talking about something other than their first playoff-less season in nearly a decade, this was a good way to do it: By signing two of their key starters to new contracts in less than 24 hours.
The Packers signed starting center Corey Linsley to a three-year contract extension Saturday, a deal that’s worth $25.5 million and includes a signing bonus of nearly $10 million, according to an NFL Network report.
Packers: Go-to receiver Davante Adams signs contract extension
GREEN BAY — Two weeks ago, Aaron Rodgers made a not-so-thinly veiled plea to general manager Ted Thompson about getting a new contract done with his No. 1 wide receiver, Davante Adams.
“Hopefully we pay him sooner rather than later,” the Green Bay Packers quarterback said on Dec. 12.

PACKERS TO WATCH
Brett Hundley, QB: Hundley has played far better on the road than at home this season. In his last three starts away from Lambeau Field, he has completed 72.2 percent (70-for-97) of his passes for 722 yards and seven touchdowns. Only three of his 10 interceptions this season have come on the road, with all three coming in a Week 6 loss at Minnesota.
Packers rule out WRs Adams, Nelson for finale against Lions
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Receivers Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson are among six key players who will miss the Green Bay Packers' season finale against the Detroit Lions because of injuries.
Adams was in the concussion protocol after absorbing a hard hit two weeks ago from Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis. Nelson left the 16-0 loss last week to Minnesota with a shoulder injury.
WR Jordy Nelson misses 2nd day of practice for Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Jordy Nelson missed a second day of practice with a shoulder injury, leaving his availability in the Packers' already short-handed receiving group in doubt for Green Bay's season finale against Detroit.
Leading receiver Davante Adams, who was in the concussion protocol following a hit two weeks ago from Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis, also appears unlikely to face the Lions after missing practice Thursday.
Packers: Injuries force Green Bay to shuffle deck in loss to Minnesota Vikings
GREEN BAY — Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams weren’t the only ones who sat out the Green Bay Packers’ 16-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Saturday night — which certainly didn’t help the Packers’ chances.
GREEN BAY, Wis. It came with no Aaron Rodgers and no Davante Adams at the beginning of the night, and no Jordy Nelson by the end of it. But as they enjoy a long holiday weekend, Vikings fans arent likely to quibble with whatever qualifying factors there might have been in an emphatic victory over their biggest rivals.
OLB Matthews among 5 Packers starters inactive for Vikings
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Outside linebackers Clay Matthews and Nick Perry are among five starters inactive for the Green Bay Packers' game Saturday night against the Minnesota Vikings.
Matthews (hamstring) and Perry (ankle/shoulder) each missed practice this week. The Packers are playing their first game since being eliminated from playoff contention.
The Vikings are pursuing a first-round bye, in what could be a surreal trip to Lambeau Field against a team with nothing to play for. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will sit out, and on a cold night, the smart play is to go with a deeper team that has more to gain. Prediction: Vikings 30, Packers 17.
Packers: Davante Adams eager to keep playing this season despite second concussion
GREEN BAY — Davante Adams doesn’t want his 2017 season to end with the concussion that he sustained in Sunday’s loss at Carolina.
But like quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with the Green Bay Packers having been cropped out of the playoff picture, the team’s No. 1 receiver might not play another snap.

About the Packers

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says keeping players safe from vicious hits is getting even tougher
As the Vikings travel to Green Bay this week to play a Packers team that wont start Aaron Rodgers and might not have Davante Adams, the propriety of certain hits in the NFL is again a hot topic of conversation.
NFL reduces suspension for Panthers’ Davis to 1 game
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The NFL has reduced linebacker Thomas Davis' suspension from two games to one following his appeal.

Packers: Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis suspended two games for illegal hit on Davante Adams
GREEN BAY -- Davante Adams was none too pleased with Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis after being knocked out of Sunday’s game and into the NFL concussion protocol by Davis’ blindside, illegal hit.
The Green Bay Packers No. 1 receiver even took to Twitter to vent.
Turns out, the league wasn’t very happy with Davis, either.
Davis was suspended two games Monday by the NFL for his hit on Adams, which came after an Aaron Rodgers interception as Davis ostensibly was blocking for safety Colin Jones.

Packers: Tom Oates gives Green Bay overall grade of ‘C’ in loss at Carolina
Aaron Rodgers threw three interceptions, but he played fearlessly and gave the Packers a chance to win in the face of a ferocious fourth-quarter pass rush. Davante Adams was outstanding until a blindside hit put him out of the game. Randall Cobb stepped up in a big way. Aaron Jones is a terific change-of-pace back.
Steelers’ Brown leaves with calf injury, taken to hospital
Steelers star receiver Antonio Brown left the team's highly anticipated matchup against New England in the second quarter Sunday with a left calf injury.

Brown, the NFL's leading receiver, had two catches for 24 yards before leaving the game.
Packers: Tom Oates gives Green Bay an overall grade of ‘B’ for overtime win at Tampa Bay
Brett Hundley ran the wrong play on a fourth-and-1 toss in the third quarter but was superb after that. Davante Adams made a huge touchdown catch to tie the game. Then he did it again to win the game. Cleveland stuffed the box and the backs had little running room. Jamaal Williams helped in the passing game.

Cleveland fell to 0-13 and made too many crucial mistakes to break into the win column.
