Saskatchewan Roughriders hire Craig Dickenson as head coach
REGINA, Saskatchewan (AP) — Craig Dickenson joined younger brother Dave as a Canadian Football League head coach Friday, taking over the top spot with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The 47-year-old Dickenson was promoted from special teams coordinator to replace Chris Jones, who resigned as head coach/GM/defensive coordinator and vice president of football operations Jan. 15 to join the NFL's Cleveland Browns as an assistant.
Former Griz QB named to College Football Hall of Fame
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Dave Dickenson, who led the University of Montana to its first NCAA Division I-AA national championship in 1995, is among 13 players and coaches who will be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this year.
Dickenson, coach of the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL, holds UM's career passing record and is a member of the Grizzly Sports Hall of Fame. He won the Walter Payton Award for the best offensive player in I-AA in 1995.
