Republican dominance unlikely to change in Wyoming
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Voter registration trends suggest strong support for Republican-dominated governance ahead of Tuesday's election in Wyoming, where Republicans have held every federal and statewide office for almost eight years and Democrats increasingly struggle to compete.
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The chief justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court plans to retire this fall.
The vacancy to be created by Justice E. James Burke's retirement Oct. 8 will give Gov. Matt Mead the opportunity to have appointed all five state supreme court justices.
Burke holds a law degree from the University of Wyoming and worked in private practice before becoming a state district court judge in 2001.
Ex-Wyoming Attorney General injured in two-vehicle crash
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Former Wyoming Attorney General Patrick Crank has been injured in a two-vehicle crash south of Torrington.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/2hEXcJT ) that Crank was airlifted to a Denver-area hospital after the Friday evening crash on U.S. Highway 85.
According to Wyoming Highway Patrol, Crank was northbound on U.S. 85 when he crashed into the rear of a pickup truck that was stopped in the lane.
