Jets cut 18, including veteran LBs David Bass, Kevin Minter
NEW YORK (AP) — The Jets have cut 18 players, including veteran linebackers David Bass and Kevin Minter, to pare their roster to 71.
New York has until 4 p.m. EDT on Saturday to reach the NFL's 53-man limit.
Safety Rontez Miles, on the physically unable to perform list, is expected to be moved to the regular-season PUP list and clear another spot.
Jets re-sign linebacker David Bass
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have re-signed linebacker David Bass, who spent last season with the team.
Bass tied for second on the Jets with 3½ sacks, and also had 33 tackles, 12 quarterback hits and seven tackles for losses. He'll provide depth on New York's defense and help the team's pass rush.
The 27-year-old Bass was a seventh-round draft pick of Oakland out of Missouri Western State in 2013. He has also spent time with Tennessee and Seattle.

Jets sign LB Bass, re-sign WR/KR Raymond to practice squad
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets signed linebacker David Bass on Thursday, adding a veteran pass rusher to Todd Bowles' defense.
To make room on the roster, the Jets waived linebacker Freddie Bishop.
They also re-signed wide receiver/kick returner Kalif Raymond to the practice squad three days after he was waived following his momentum-turning fumbled punt at Oakland.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seahawks have signed veteran defensive end David Bass as Seattle continues to look for options on the defensive front.
Seattle announced the signing of Bass on Tuesday, along with the release of eight players, ahead of this weekend's rookie minicamp.
Titans defensive linemen Casey, Klug questionable for Sunday
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The Tennessee Titans have listed defensive linemen Jurrell Casey and Karl Klug as questionable for Sunday's game at Kansas City.
Both players said that after increasing their practice reps on Friday, they're planning to play against the Chiefs.
Casey, Klug and linebacker David Bass were limited Friday. Bass also was listed as questionable.
Linebacker Sean Spence has been ruled out with a left ankle sprain.
