NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) — David Caraher scored 23 points, grabbed nine rebounds and passed for five assists as Houston Baptist roared back from a 17-point first-half deficit to keep Northwestern State winless in Southland Conference play, 77-70 on Wednesday night.
Northwestern State hit 11 of its first 15 shots to take a quick, 22-7 lead, but the Huskies closed the half on a 30-17 run over the final 10 minutes to trail by just four at intermission, 43-39 of the first half.
Kilgore has Texas A&M-CC’s 1st triple double in OT victory
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Joseph Kilgore finished with the first triple double in school history as he scored eight of his 24 points in overtime to help Texas A&M-Corpus Christi beat Houston Baptist 79-69 on Saturday night.
Kilgore was 10 of 12 from the line with 12 rebounds and 11 assists. He was just three assists shy of a triple double when the Islanders beat Abilene Christian on Wednesday night, finishing with 13 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.
Houston Baptist defeats Incarnate Word 102-86 in Southland

UT San Antonio cruises past Houston Baptist 87-71
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Freshman Keaton Wallace made five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 24 and Byron Frohnen added 18 points and eight rebounds to spark UT San Antonio to an 87-71 victory over Houston Baptist on Saturday night.
Nick Allen and Deon Lyle each scored 13 for the Roadrunners (6-5), who were playing the Huskies (3-7) for the first time since 1989 when both were members of the Trans-America Athletic Conference.

HOUSTON (AP) — David Caraher had 20 points and eight rebounds and led seven Houston Baptist players in double figures as the Huskies overwhelmed Arlington Baptist 108-67 on Tuesday night.
Houston Baptist (1-1), which opened with an 84-55 loss to Providence, charged out to a 51-32 lead at the break and poured it on in the second half.
Caraher, a freshman who had 19 points and seven rebounds against Providence, was 8 of 13 from the floor against Arlington Baptist, which competes in the NCCAA.
White leads attack, Providence dumps Houston Baptist 84-55
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Maliek White scored 13 points and Kyron Cartwright had 10 points and distributed 10 assists to lead Providence to its season-opening win beating Houston Baptist 84-55 on Friday night in a 2K Classic tournament opener.
With the scored knotted at 11, the Friars put together an 18-4 run that Houston Baptist never recovered from. White scored seven points during that stretch with a layup, dunk and 3-pointer and Nate Watson scored eight points all on lay-ins in that span.
