Northwest Mississippi newspaper to be sold to growing chain
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — The owners of a twice-weekly newspaper in northwest Mississippi are selling to entities that already own five daily and two weekly newspapers in the state.
John and Rupert Howell say they're selling The Panolian of Batesville to Boone Newspapers and Carpenter Newsmedia.
The Howells say they expect to complete the sale by Jan. 1. No price was disclosed.
