Edler scores in OT, Canucks defeat Flames 3-2
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — The play of Alex Edler has the Vancouver Canucks on a roll.
Edler scored the overtime winner, had an assist and led both teams with more than 27 minutes of ice time as the Canucks defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 Saturday night.
Just over three minutes into a back-and-forth overtime, Edler took a pass from Brock Boeser and his shot dribbled through the pads of David Rittich.
Gaudreau’s hat trick leads Flames past Jets, 4-1

Gaudreau had a hat trick as the Calgary Flames ended a three-game winless streak with a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night.
Mark Jankowski had a short-handed, third-period goal for Calgary. Sean Monahan contributed three assists and Elias Lindholm added a pair.
Rittich made 35 saves.

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) — Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn took full advantage of a poor defensive effort by the Calgary Flames.
Seguin scored 24 seconds into overtime, with an assist from Benn, to give the Dallas Stars a 4-3 victory over Calgary on Wednesday night.
Benn knocked the puck into the slot, where Seguin was wide open and put a shot inside the post on David Rittich.
Rittich, Hamonic lead Flames to 1-0 win over Kings
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Calgary Flames goalie David Rittich was more than happy to share the credit after getting his first career shutout.
It was a perfectly reasonable position from Rittich after seeing the hard work put in on both ends of the ice by defenseman Travis Hamonic and the Flames.
Rittich stopped 21 shots and Hamonic scored to help the Flames to a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night.

DENVER (AP) — David Rittich was happy to help the Calgary Flames end their road trip on a high note. His teammates were happier that the rookie goaltender notched his first NHL win.
Rittich stopped 24 shots, Micheal Ferland and Mikael Backlund scored in the final minute of the second period, and the Calgary Flames beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on Saturday night.
Dougie Hamilton also scored, and Backlund added an assist for the Flames.
