Collins leads Hawks past Nuggets 106-98
ATLANTA (AP) — John Collins was most pleased that Atlanta avenged a blowout loss to Denver.
Collins scored a career-high 30 points, and Vince Carter and DeAndre' Bembry came off the bench to fuel a third-quarter rally that helped the Hawks beat the Nuggets 106-98 on Saturday night.
Collins thought back to a 138-93 loss to the Nuggets last month.
Hawks exercise contract options on Bembry, Prince, Collins
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Hawks have exercised their 2019-20 contract options on DeAndre' Bembry, Taurean Prince and John Collins.
Bembry, the No. 21 pick by the Hawks in the 2016 draft, has averaged 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in his first two games. He made three starts last season while averaging 5.2 points.
Prince, acquired by the Hawks from the Utah Jazz in a three-team trade on July 7, 2016, started all 82 games for Atlanta last season and averaged 14.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists.
Johnson out again for Pistons with hip problem
DETROIT (AP) — Stanley Johnson is missing a second straight game for the Detroit Pistons with a right hip flexor strain.
Johnson was also out for Wednesday night's win over Indiana after starting the first 10 games of the season. The 6-foot-7 forward is averaging 8.5 points per game.
Hawks’ Bembry has surgery on wrist, to miss 4 to 6 weeks
ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta Hawks guard/forward DeAndre' Bembry is expected to miss four to six weeks after having surgery to repair his fractured right wrist.
The Hawks say the surgery was performed on Tuesday at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center in Atlanta.
Bembry suffered the injury in the season-opening win at Dallas last Wednesday.
Hawks’ DeAndre’ Bembry has fractured right wrist
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Atlanta Hawks guard/forward DeAndre' Bembry has a fracture in his right wrist.
He will return to Atlanta following Friday night's game in Charlotte against the Hornets and meet with team physicians from Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center on Monday.
It's unclear how long the second-year player will be out. His status will then be updated Monday, according to the team.
Hawks’ F DeAndre’ Bembry out 4-6 weeks with tricep injury
ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta Hawks forward DeAndre' Bembry will miss at least a month with a strained right triceps and possibly the start of the regular season.
The Hawks announced Wednesday that Bembry underwent an MRI last week. There was no indication how the injury happened, but he has been working out at team facilities through much of the offseason.
