Receiver Deonte Thompson back with Bills for 3rd time
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Perhaps, the third time in Buffalo will be the charm for receiver Deonte Thompson.
The Bills continued shuffling their roster during their bye week by signing Thompson on Wednesday, a week after the seventh-year player was released by the Dallas Cowboys.
Thompson returns to Buffalo a year after he had 27 catches for 430 yards and a touchdown in 11 games. He also appeared in one game for the Bills in 2014.
Cowboys shuffling receivers again; pair set for 2018 debuts
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys are doing more shuffling at receiver as they try to revive one of the NFL's worst passing attacks before a critical game at Philadelphia.
The Cowboys on Friday waived one of their key offseason free agent pickups, receiver Deonte Thompson, while activating Noah Brown off injured reserve and promoting Lance Lenoir from the practice squad.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys are feeling more confident that they might have replaced Dez Bryant in free agency, so another day of the NFL draft could come and go without them taking a receiver.
After picking linebacker Leighton Vander Esch of Boise State at No. 19 in the first round, the Cowboys have the 50th overall pick in the second round and the No. 81 overall selection in the third round Friday night.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Free agent wide receiver Deonte Thompson has signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Thompson joined the Cowboys on Thursday, one day after veteran linebacker Joe Thomas agreed to a two-year deal and was their first acquisition since NFL free agency opened last week.

Bills face QB questions after Taylor hurt in loss to Pats
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Limping heavily on his left leg, Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor quietly grabbed a few belongings from his locker and headed out a side door.
Before pulling on a pair of head phones, Taylor nodded his head "Yes," when asked by The Associated Press if he was OK. He then gingerly climbed into a cart, driven off up the tunnel and into the New Era Field parking lot.
Buffalo Bills sign receiver Deonte Thompson
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have restocked their injury-thinned offense by signing receiver Deonte Thompson.
Thompson has five-plus seasons of NFL experience and had 11 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown with Chicago before being released by the Bears last week. Thompson played his first two seasons with Baltimore and then had no catches in playing one game for Buffalo in 2014.
Overall, he has 50 catches for 602 yards and three touchdowns in 42 games.

Glennon says he doesn’t fear losing Bears starting QB job
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Mike Glennon isn't looking over his shoulder at Mitchell Trubisky.
The Chicago quarterback said after Sunday's 29-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that he doesn't feel he's on the verge of losing his starting job to the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft.
"There's been no communication of that, so there is no reason to worry," said Glennon, who was coming off a solid, if not spectacular performance in the Bears' 23-17 season-opening loss to defending NFC champion Atlanta.

BOSTON (AP) — Chicago Bears wide receiver Deonte Thompson has testified in the double-murder trial of ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez.
The former New England Patriots tight end played football with Thompson at the University of Florida.
Thompson testified Monday about a Florida party he invited Hernandez to in February 2013. Hernandez smiled when Thompson referred to him as "my guy."
Bears re-sign WR/KR Deonte Thompson to 1-year deal
LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have re-signed receiver and kickoff returner Deonte Thompson to a one-year contract.
He had 22 receptions for 249 yards and finished second in the NFL with 804 kickoff return yards last season.
Thompson has 39 receptions for 477 yards and 71 kickoff returns for 1,803 yards in five seasons with Baltimore Ravens (2012-13), Buffalo Bills (2014) and Bears (2015-16).

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Dealing with several injuries, the Chicago Bears have already had plenty of issues this season.
Yet one more was added to the list.
At 2-9 heading into Sunday's home game with the San Francisco 49ers, the Bears learned Monday that linebacker Danny Trevathan will miss the rest of the season with a ruptured right patellar tendon.
