Buffalo Bills re-sign QB Derek Anderson to 1-year contract
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have re-signed veteran quarterback Derek Anderson to a one-year contract in a move reflecting the role he played in mentoring rookie Josh Allen through the final two-plus months of the season.
The signing on Monday comes a day after Buffalo closed a 6-10 season with a 42-17 win over Miami, in which Allen had a career-best three touchdowns passing and scored two more rushing.
Bills sign quarterback Matt Barkley to 2-year extension
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed quarterback Matt Barkley to a two-year contract extension, securing what's been an unsettled backup spot behind rookie Josh Allen.
The signing announced Friday is a reflection of how Barkley performed in winning his one start this season and his role in helping mentor Allen. Coach Sean McDermott this week lauded Barkley for his support of Allen.
Bills RB McCoy questionable with hamstring injury
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is questionable for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
McCoy suffered a hamstring injury against the New York Jets last weekend. He missed practice on Wednesday before being limited the past two days.
Running back Chris Ivory is also questionable with a shoulder injury, though Ivory was a full participant in practice all week.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Bills have signed quarterback Matt Barkley to address a banged-up and thinly experienced position ahead of their game against the Chicago Bears this weekend.
In a separate move Wednesday, punter Colton Schmidt returned to the Bills. He was signed to replace rookie Corey Bojorquez, who was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Coach Ron Rivera says he will not play three-time All-Pro middle linebacker Luke Kuechly in the team's season finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the Panthers out of playoff contention and his star defender recovering from a concussion.
Kuechly was cleared from the NFL's concussion protocol three weeks, but Rivera has elected not to play him as a precautionary measure.
Rivera said the decision about what is best for the long-term future of the team.

NEW YORK (AP) — Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry and Houston Texans cornerback Kareem Jackson have each been fined $24,309 by the NFL for helmet-to-helmet hits last weekend.
Berry was docked Friday after he made direct contact with the helmet of Denver backup running back Kapri Bibbs in the first quarter of the Chiefs' 30-27 overtime victory last Sunday night. Bibbs left the game to be evaluated for a concussion, but later returned.
