Kessel scores in overtime, Penguins beat Coyotes 3-2
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan did not like his team's effort in a loss to San Jose earlier this week. A parade to the penalty box in the first period did not lift his mood.

Stepan scores in OT to lift Coyotes to 4-3 win over Rangers
NEW YORK (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes had every reason to feel the deck was stacked against them. They had lost four straight and trailed 3-0 in the second period against the New York Rangers.

Coyotes surging behind massive scoring flurry
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes lost four of their first five games, three by shutout.
Another lost season in the desert apparently on the way.
The thing about those early games, though, is they were close, unlike the start of last season. The Coyotes played well, just couldn't seem to catch the right break or get pucks to find the net.
Once the pucks started going in, the Coyotes couldn't seem to miss.
Stepan scores from own blue line, Coyotes beat Senators 5-1
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Derek Stepan gathered the puck near Arizona's blue line and flipped it toward the other end, hoping to kill a few extra seconds off Ottawa's power play. The puck skittered off the ice and slipped through the goalie's pads, a dump-in turned into an unexpected goal.
A little lucky? Maybe, but the Coyotes are also creating good fortune by playing hard and smart during a four-game winning streak.

Lundqvist, Zibanejad lead Rangers past Coyotes in shootout
