Kane scores twice, Sharks rout Canucks 7-2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The San Jose Sharks took no pity on teenager Mike DiPietro making his NHL debut in the nets for the Vancouver Canucks.
Evander Kane scored twice, leading the Sharks to a 7-2 rout of the Canucks on Monday night.
The victory moves San Jose into first place in the Western Conference and extends the Sharks' winning streak to six games.
Timo Meier, Melker Karlsson, Tomas Hertl, Kevin Lebanc and Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks. Martin Jones had 25 saves.
Pouliot caps Pettersson’s big night, Canucks beat Avs in OT
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Elias Pettersson's teammates couldn't quite find the words to describe how the rookie played on Friday night.
The 19-year-old had two goals and three assists, scoring the tying goal in the final minute of regulation and then setting up Derrick Pouliot's winner late in overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks to a 7-6 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
"Wow," Vancouver's Bo Horvat said when asked about Pettersson's performance.
Canucks score 4 goals in 3rd, beat Lightning 4-1
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Anders Nilsson had a busy and productive first start of the season for the Vancouver Canucks.
Nilsson stopped 16 of 17 shots in the first period and finished with 33 in the Canucks' 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
"I had to get going right away," Nilsson said. "I felt confident going in the game. I've been feeling good the last couple weeks so I've been eager to get into a game eventually. I was excited to get the start and get to play."
Markstrom gets 1st NHL shutout, Canucks blank Hurricanes 3-0
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — After more than 100 career starts, Vancouver goalie Jacob Markstrom finally has his first NHL shutout.
Markstrom made 30 saves and the Canucks blanked the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0 on Tuesday night for their third straight win.
Vancouver defenseman Derrick Pouliot had a goal and two assists. Nikolay Goldobin and Thomas Vanek also scored for the Canucks (14-10-4).
Boeser scores twice, leads Canucks past Penguins
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Vancouver Cancuks rookie Brock Boeser is enjoying a fast start to his career, while embattled defenseman Derrick Pouliot is just happy to have a change of scenery.
Boeser scored two more goals and Pouliot netted the game-winner against his former team as the Canucks defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 on Wednesday night.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Canucks have acquired defenseman Derrick Pouliot from the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenseman Andrey Pedan and a fourth-round selection in the 2018 draft.
The Canucks hope the 23-year-old Pouliot will reach his potential under new coach Travis Green after he failed to catch on in Pittsburgh.
Penguins Ron Hainsey sidelined with upper-body injury
PITTSBURGH (AP) — The depleted Pittsburgh Penguins defense has taken another hit. Coach Mike Sullivan says defenseman Ron Hainsey is week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
The Penguins acquired the 35-year-old Hainsey just before the trade deadline. Hainsey has one assist in 10 games since joining Pittsburgh. The Penguins called up Derrick Pouliot from their AHL affiliate in Wilkes Barre/Scranton ahead of Friday night's game against New Jersey to fill in for Hainsey.
Gardiner scores in OT to lift Leafs over Penguins
TORONTO (AP) — Confidence was running high moments after the Toronto Maple Leafs sealed an overtime victory over the defending Stanley Cup champions.
"We played about as good as we could tonight," said defenseman Jake Gardiner, who scored the winner in Toronto's 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins. "But it also shows we can play with anybody."
