Dave Collette leads new-look Utah after winding road
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — David Collette doesn't often look back at the strange, twisting road of college basketball that he's navigated the last four years. The Utah senior power forward is more focused on finishing out his final year, and first full season since 2014-15, on a high note.
"It's crazy, it goes fast," Collette said. "Everyone likes the opportunity (to lead). It's not something I've (specifically) looked forward to. I do what I do. I'm here to help the team."
Utah signs guard Devante Doutrive, plans to redshirt
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah has signed shooting guard Devante Doutrive to a letter of intent. He plans to redshirt during the 2017-18 season.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pounder from Woodland Hills, California, averaged 22.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.7 steals and won a state title at Birmingham High School last season.
Doutrive was ranked a four-star prospect by Scout and ESPN. Scout reported he received offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Gonzaga and UTEP.

The Utes (17-8, 8-5) ran away with the game in the first half despite trailing by eight early.

SEATTLE (AP) — Devon Daniels could not be stopped. Seemingly whenever he wanted to get to the rim, the chance was there for Daniels to score.

Daniels, Kuzman lead Utah past Montana State 92-84
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — With the win over Montana State pretty well decided, someone in the crowd told Kyle Kuzma he was one assist off the first triple-double at Utah in 17 years.
Kuzma did everything he could to get that one extra assist including throwing an errant full-court pass.
Head coach Larry Krystkowiak, who celebrated his 100th win at Utah, wasn't pleased about Kuzma hunting for statistics.
Bonam’s 21 leads Utah over UC Riverside 85-67
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah has three players that hail from the state of Michigan and the trio made all the difference against UC Riverside.
"We just have a little grit to ourselves and we always try and play hard. We get after it," Kyle Kuzma (Flint, Michigan) said.
Lorenzo Bonam (Inkster, Michigan) scored a career-high 21 points and Kuzma added 18 to help Utah run past the Highlanders 85-67 on Friday night.
