ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is listed as questionable to play at Buffalo.

Lions sign free agent defensive end Robert Ayers
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — When healthy, Robert Ayers has been a pretty productive pass rusher.
The Detroit Lions could use some help in that area, and now the veteran defensive end has a chance to provide it.
The Lions signed Ayers in their latest attempt to bolster their defensive front. Now entering his 10th NFL season, Ayers made 10 starts in each of the past two seasons with Tampa Bay. He has 35 sacks, including a career-high 9½ with the New York Giants in 2015.
Lions lose Steve Longa, a setback for team’s shaky LB group
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit Lions linebacker Steve Longa's season-ending knee injury represents a setback for a position group that already is a potential problem area.
Detroit used a first-round pick on Jarrad Davis last season and he appears to be a liability in pass coverage.
The Lions signed veteran free agents Christian Jones and Devon Kennard on the same day in March, hoping they can be 16-game starters for the first time in their careers.

Checking in with the Vikings division opponents after the first wave of free agency:
What they accomplished: Upgraded an abysmal receiving corps by adding Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and pass-catching tight end Trey Burton.

What they accomplished: In Devon Kennard, they acquired a versatile edge-rushing linebacker who will help new coach Matt Patricia when he chooses to mix in 3-4 looks.

They guaranteed $84 million to a starting quarterback, traded for his backup and added a key starter to coach Mike Zimmers No. 1-ranked defense. But Kirk Cousins, Trevor Siemian and Sheldon Richardson arent the only newbies of the North to keep an eye on.
