Wright State rallies from 14-point deficit to beat UIC 88-81
CHICAGO (AP) — Loudon Love had his 12th double-double and fellow-freshman Everett Winchester scored a season-high 19 points to help Wright State overcome a 14-point deficit and beat Illinois-Chicago 88-81 on Sunday.
Wright State (21-9, 13-4 Horizon League) will be the No. 2 seed and, as well as third-seeded UIC (17-13, 12-5), will have a first-round bye in the conference tournament, which begins Friday in Detroit.
UIC uses late run to beat Detroit Mercy 94-87
CHICAGO (AP) — Marcus Ottey and Dikembe Dixson had 20 points each and UIC held off Detroit Mercy for a 94-87 win on Monday night.
The Flames (17-12, 12-4 Horizon League) pulled away with a 21-5 run to lead 84-67 on Clint Robinson's layup with 5:14 left. The Titans (8-21, 4-12) cut the deficit to seven at 89-82 and at the final score.
Dixson scores 18, leads UIC over Green Bay 83-75
ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — Dikembe Dixson scored 18 points, Jordan Blount had 14 points and 15 rebounds and Illinois-Chicago beat Green Bay 83-75 on Friday night.
UIC (16-12, 11-4 Horizon League) rebounded from a nine-point loss to Cleveland State that broke a seven-game win streak. The Flames moved within a game of league leaders Wright State and Northern Kentucky, and conclude the regular season against the two next week.
Cleveland State holds off UIC late to post 86-78 upset win
CHICAGO (AP) — Tyree Appleby and Stefan Kenic converted 7 of 8 from the free-throw line in the final two minutes and Chicago State held on to upset Illinois-Chicago, 86-78 in a Horizon League game Saturday night.
The loss pushed the Flames two games back of conference-leader Northern Kentucky. Wright State fell out of a first-place tie and is in second place, a game ahead of UIC.
Dixson, Ottey lead UIC past Youngstown State 100-75

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Tarkus Ferguson had 19 points, Dikembe Dixson and Godwin Boahen scored 13 apiece, and Illinois-Chicago beat Milwaukee 74-56 on Monday night.

Oakland pulls away late, beats UIC 78-68

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Marcus Ottey and Dikembe Dixson scored 19 points apiece and Illinois-Chicago rallied from a 13-point deficit to beat IUPUI 70-65 on Thursday night and snap an 11-game road losing streak.
Ottey, who scored 11 second-half points, made 7 of 9 from the field and had three steals and Dixson scored eight points in the final 12 minutes. Dixson, a sophomore, became the 22nd player in program history to top the 1,000-point plateau (1,016).
Wright St opens Horizon League play with win over UIC
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — Justin Mitchell totaled 14 points and six rebounds, Mark Hughes added 13 points and five assists and Grant Benzinger finished with a double-double to carry Wright State to a 65-61 victory over Illinois-Chicago on Thursday night in a Horizon League opener.
Benzinger tallied 11 points, 11 rebounds and four steals for the Raiders (9-5), who have won 9 of 11 after opening the season 0-3.
Dixson, Matthews led UIC over Trinity Christian 84-45
CHICAGO (AP) — Dikembe Dixson scored a season-high 25 points, 17 in the first half, and Dominique Matthews added 20, also a season best, to lead UIC to an 84-45 win over Trinity Christian on Saturday.
Matthews hit a 3-pointer 13 seconds into the game and the Flames led the rest of the way. Dixson scored 10 points in a 17-2 run and later ended the half with a steal and a dunk for a 45-23 lead. Two Matthews 3-pointers and a Dixon dunk gave UIC a 67-34 bulge with 11½ minutes remaining.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Ronnie Boyce scored a career-high 28 points, Remu Raitanen made a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left, and San Francisco held on to beat Illinois-Chicago 82-80 on Friday night.
Boyce was 11 of 19 from the field and made four 3-pointers. Nate Renfro had 12 points, and Chase Foster chipped in eight points and grabbed a career-best 11 rebounds.
Dikembe Dixson had 15 points to lead UIC. Godwin Boahen and Tai Odiase added 12 points apiece.
