WASHINGTON (AP) — Winnipeg Jets top center Mark Scheifele remains out with an upper-body injury and is expected to miss Tuesday night's game at Nashville.
Coach Paul Maurice says he's going to be cautious with Scheifele with the playoffs a month away. Scheifele is missing his third and fourth consecutive games — Monday night at Washington and Tuesday at Nashville.
The team has not said if this is the same injury that kept him out 16 games earlier this season.
Byfuglien’s goal and assist lead Jets past Coyotes 4-3
WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) — Dustin Byfuglien's 800th NHL game was as memorable as it was productive, as the Jets defenseman scored and added an assist in Winnipeg's 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday night.
"It's great. I've done some good things around here to stick around to play 800," said Byfuglien, now in his 13th NHL season. "It's an honor, it's a pleasure, it's fun."
Russia hopes the lure of playing in the Olympics draws some players back home to the Kontinental Hockey League.
The Russian Hockey Federation said Wednesday it will try to keep KHL players from leaving for North America and attempt to bring NHL free agents back this summer. That could include pending free agents such as the Montreal Canadiens' Andrei Markov and Alexander Radulov.
Eichel scores 2 in Sabres 5-2 win over Maple Leafs
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Sabres forward Jack Eichel would like to thank the thousands of Maple Leafs fans who showed up in Buffalo to provide an electric environment to what's been a difficult season.

Having disposed of a Buffalo Sabres team that, to be fair, was missing key players Ryan O’Reilly, Tyler Ennis and Dmitry Kulikov in a home-and-home series that wrapped up Saturday, the Bruins yesterday made the short flight to Newark, N.J..
The B’s tonight face the New Jersey Devils, who are having a half-decent season at 14-16-7 but are far out of contention in the deep and talented Metropolitan Division. New Jersey has scored only 86 goals in 37 games, fewest in the Eastern Conference.
