Texas A&M holds on for 81-80 upset of No. 8 Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Texas A&M built a big lead, lost it and ultimately came out on top after a frantic final minute.
Duane Wilson made one of two free throws with four seconds left to lift the Aggies to an 81-80 upset of No. 8 Auburn on Wednesday night.
Texas A&M (16-8, 5-6 Southeastern Conference) held on for its third straight win after squandering a 17-point lead in the second half.
No. 8 Texas A&M barely beats Northern Kentucky 64-58
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — No. 8 Texas A&M has a goal of driving three hours in late March to play in the Final Four in San Antonio.
The Aggies found out Tuesday night they will need star defenders Admon Gilder and Robert Williams nearly every step of the way to achieve that lofty objective.
Senior guard Duane Wilson scored 16 points and A&M escaped with a 64-58 victory over Northern Kentucky, minus Gilder and Williams and two more role players.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Junior guard Duane Wilson is leaving Marquette and plans to transfer to another school as a graduate student for his final year of eligibility.
The Milwaukee native leaves his hometown program after three seasons. He averaged 4.8 points over 30 games in 2016-17, making seven starts.
Wilson is on track to graduate from Marquette in May and would be eligible to play with a new team this fall.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Jajuan Johnson scored 20 points and Marquette beat Creighton 91-83 in a regular season finale for both teams Saturday.
The win positions the Golden Eagles (19-11, 10-8) as the No. 4 seed in the Big East Conference Tournament. Creighton enters as the No. 6 seed.
Markus Howard added 18 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Golden Eagles. Luke Fischer had 13 points, Katin Reinhardt had 12 and Sam Hauser had 11 points and seven boards.
Rowsey sinks 6 3-pointers, scores 24 in Marquette’s win
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Andrew Rowsey sank 6 of 7 3-point attempts and scored a season-high 24 points to lead Marquette to an 83-58 victory over DePaul on Saturday.
Katin Reinhardt added three 3-pointers and a season-high 19 points for the Golden Eagles (12-5, 3-2 Big East), who won their second straight by shooting 62.5 percent, including 13 of 27 (48 percent) from 3-point range. Duane Wilson had seven assists.
Cheatham’s 19 paces Marquette past SIU-Edwardsville 89-56
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Haanif Cheatham scored 19 points on 8 of 10 shooting and led five players in double figures as Marquette defeated SIU-Edwardsville 89-56 on Wednesday night in the first meeting between the schools.
Luke Fischer added 15 points, Jajuan Johnson 14, while Sam Hauser and Duane Wilson scored 11 each for the Golden Eagles, who shot 53 percent from the floor, making 32 of 60 field goals. Marquette forced 22 turnovers and had 17 assists, Johnson leading with five.
Cheatham scores 20, Marquette beats IUPUI 104-79
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Haanif Cheatham scored 20 points and Marquette shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half to beat IUPUI 104-79 Tuesday night to close out the 2K Classic.
The Golden Eagles last topped 100 points in its 101-93 win at St. John's on March 9.
Katin Reinhardt scored 16 and made a career-high eight free throws. Marquette rolled to a 57-37 halftime advantage, making 16 of 17 free throws (94 percent) in the first half.
