MONTREAL (AP) — Johnny Manziel will have to wait to get on the field for the Montreal Alouettes.
Manziel will dress as Vernon Adams' backup when the Alouettes host the Edmonton Eskimos on Thursday night, four days after the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner was acquired from Hamilton.
Carson Walch, in his seventh season as a coach in professional football, has adjusted very nicely in his new role with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.
After spending 2016 as the receivers coach and passing game coordinator with the Eskimos — his first season in Edmonton — the Elgin native is thriving as the team's offensive coordinator in 2017.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Tim Hague, the former UFC fighter known as "The Thrashing Machine," died Sunday, two days after he was critically injured when he was knocked out in a boxing match against former Edmonton Eskimos defensive end Adam Braidwood.

It’s been a while since green and gold was in the forefront of Brock Sunderland’s wardrobe choices.
Almost 20 years since those colors were part of his everyday life.
In between there’s been some maroon, silver, blues, greens and whites and for the past four years, a healthy dose of red and black.
“Enough to clothe a third-world nation,” Sunderland jokes.
Now he’s back sartorially to where it basically started.
The NFL draft is in full swing and Carson Walch is a professional football coach. But the Elgin native isn't paying much attention to the proceedings.
"Not at all," Walch said.
Walch is in Las Vegas on a football function, but he is a coach with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. The Edmonton staff is holding a tryout for players and will follow with a mini-camp.
