Rondo’s jumper at buzzer lifts Lakers over Celtics 129-128
BOSTON (AP) — LeBron James won't be playing alongside Anthony Davis this season.

Rajon Rondo hit a 20-foot jumper as time expired to lift the Los Angeles Lakers over the Boston Celtics, 129-128 on Thursday night.
Seattle continues to feast at home; downs Northwest 107-72
SEATTLE (AP) — Terrell Brown scored a career-high 26 points and Morgan Means scored 23 and Seattle beat NAIA Northwest 107-72 to conclude the Elgin Baylor Classic on Wednesday night.
Seattle (7-2) has won four straight after having played its last eight games at home. The Redhawks face Eastern Washington at home on Dec. 1 and Omaha on Dec. 6, but don't stray far staying in Seattle to play at Washington on Dec. 9. The Redhawks won't leave the state until traveling to play Portland on Dec. 17.
Kavas, Carter double up to lead Seattle past Longwood 70-50
SEATTLE (AP) — Matej Kavas scored 22 points with 13 rebounds, Myles Carter scored 14 with 12 boards and Seattle trounced Longwood 70-50 in the Elgin Baylor Classic Sunday night.
Kavas' 13 rebounds are a career high and Carter tied his personal rebound best.
Lorenzo Phillips gave Longwood its last lead (11-10) with 15:03 left before the first half. Kavas — who finished with four 3-pointers — responded with a 3 that sparked a 16-4 run and Longwood (5-3) never recovered.
Taliaferro’s late basket sends Fairfield past Denver 86-85
SEATTLE (AP) — Landon Taliaferro scored 21 points including the go-ahead layup with 1:41 left and Fairfield beat Denver 86-85 in an Elgin Baylor Classic game on Sunday.
Seattle edges Fairfield 83-80 in Elgin Baylor Classic
SEATTLE (AP) — Matej Kavas scored 20 points and Seattle held off Fairfield for an 83-80 victory on Saturday night in the Elgin Baylor Classic.
The host Redhawks (5-2) will play Longwood while Fairfield (1-5) faces Denver to conclude the tournament on Sunday.
Delante Jones added 17 points for Seattle. Morgan Means made 13 free throws and a 3-pointer for 16 points, and Myles Carter tossed in 12 points.
Denver hands Longwood its first loss, 64-62 in Elgin Baylor
SEATTLE (AP) — Ronnie Harrell Jr. hit 3 of 4 from the free throw line in the closing seconds and Denver held off Longwood, 64-62 in a second-round game at the Elgin Baylor Classic at Seattle University on Saturday afternoon.
Spencer Franklin hit two layups in the final :14 seconds to pull Longwood within a point, but each time Harrell answered from the line.
Longwood, which came into the game 5-0, rallied from 10-points down to start the second half but was never able to overtake the Pioneers.
Longwood hangs on to beat Fairfield 67-65
SEATTLE (AP) — Sean Flood made four 3-pointers and scored a career-high 19 points and Longwood held on for a 67-65 victory over Fairfield on Friday in the Elgin Baylor Classic.
Flood, in his second start this season, was 6-of-7 shooting, including 4 of 5 from the arc, with Jashaun Smith adding 13 points and Lorenzo Phillips 11.
Seattle tops Denver to open the Elgin Baylor Classic, 82-63
SEATTLE (AP) — Morgan Means knocked down six 3-pointers and Terrell Brown was a field goal shy of a triple double and Seattle cruised to an opening-round win in its own Elgin Baylor Classic, posting an 82-63 victory over Denver Friday afternoon.
The Redhawks face Fairfield Saturday and Longwood on Sunday.
Seattle had a three-game win streak snapped with a 73-70 loss to unbeaten Southern Utah.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mitch Chortkoff, a columnist and beat writer who covered the Los Angeles Lakers for over 50 years, has died. He was 78.
He died Tuesday at a health care facility in Van Nuys following a long illness, according to his brother Stan.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Lakers unveiled a statue of Elgin Baylor before Friday night's home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Baylor's statue became the sixth that decorates the front of Staples Center, joining Shaquille O'Neal, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Jerry West and Chick Hearn.
