Canucks rally to beat Kings 4-3, end road losing streak at 4
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Battered, bruised and playing on the second night of a back-to-back, it would have been understandable if the youthful Vancouver Canucks gave up ground in their surprising playoff push.
Instead, the Canucks found a way to beat the Los Angeles Kings.
Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser scored in a shootout after Adam Gaudette tied it up with 1:38 remaining in the third period to give the Canucks a 4-3 win over the Kings on Thursday night.
Pettersson scores in shootout, Canucks best Flames 4-3
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Vancouver Canucks center Bo Horvat credited veteran goalie Jacob Markstrom with Saturday's win over the Calgary Flames.
Markstrom stopped 44 of 47 shots and put up three more saves in the shootout, leading Vancouver to a 4-3 victory over the Flames.
"We couldn't have done it without Marky tonight," Horvat said. "He was absolutely sensational, made key saves at unbelievable times of the hockey game and he was a stud in the shootout again. So big credit to him."
Pettersson scores in return from injury; Canucks beat Wings
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Elias Pettersson was hard on himself after his first game back from a knee injury. His coach was more forgiving.
Pettersson had a goal and an assist, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Sunday.
"I felt I lost the puck a few times, made some bad decisions, some turnovers. But I've just got to play it simple," Pettersson said.
Eriksson, Canucks deal Panthers 6th straight loss, 5-1
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks used their last game against the Florida Panthers as motivation for Sunday's rematch.
"We've got some bad blood with them," Vancouver defenseman Ben Hutton said. "Obviously, everyone knows that."
When the teams last met in October, Vancouver's star rookie Elias Pettersson was the victim of a controversial hit by Panthers defenseman Mike Matheson. No penalty was called and Pettersson ended up missing two weeks with a concussion.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — The Vancouver Canucks have climbed back to .500, yet head coach Travis Green isn't satisfied yet.
Elias Pettersson and Antoine Roussel each had a goal and an assist as the Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 on Thursday night.
The Canucks scored four goals on their first six shots. Tyler Motte and Brock Boeser also scored for Vancouver, which is 7-2-1 in its last 10 games.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Bo Horvat says the Vancouver Canucks knew the power-play points would come eventually.
"We have a lot of sharp shooters out there and a lot of guys who can put the puck in the net, so it was just a matter of time before they started flooding in," Horvat said.
Brock Boeser had three power-play points and the Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 Sunday night.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — None of Vancouver's three goals on Tuesday night were particularly pretty. Two bounced in off skates, and the other caromed into the net off the backside of Columbus goalie Joonas Korpisalo.
The Canucks will take them. After trailing most of the game, they scored all three in the third period to beat Columbus 3-2 and win their third straight game after losing 12 of 13.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Brock Boeser didn't need much help during a breakout 2017-18 season. Now he's getting plenty from another star rookie in Elias Pettersson.

The rookie sensation scored on his initial NHL penalty shot and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Nashville Predators 5-3 Thursday night to snap a four-game losing streak.
Pettersson made it look easy, snaking his way across the ice, making a couple of dekes, then slipping the puck past the toe of Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne to give Vancouver a 4-1 lead late in the second period.

Filip Chytil and Brett Howden scored to help Lundqvist get his 437th career win, tying Jacque Plante for seventh place on the NHL's all-time list. The Rangers improved to 6-0-1 in the last seven.

Horvat, playing in his 300th NHL game, scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night.
"I think that was the icing on top," Horvat said. "The win feels that much better."
Canucks score 4 goals in 3rd, beat Lightning 4-1
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Anders Nilsson had a busy and productive first start of the season for the Vancouver Canucks.
Nilsson stopped 16 of 17 shots in the first period and finished with 33 in the Canucks' 4-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
"I had to get going right away," Nilsson said. "I felt confident going in the game. I've been feeling good the last couple weeks so I've been eager to get into a game eventually. I was excited to get the start and get to play."
